General "Smash" Discussions

For both Brawl and Melee players, so there's no feuds.

Melee-related: Pound 5 just ended, Grand Finals was f`ucking insane! 13:00 - 13:35 = "WHAT'S GUNNA HAPPEN?!?!?!". I'm watching this right now as I post this thread.

I play brawl. Not competitively, because I have yet to see a tournament around where I live, but I play it for fun with friends sometimes. I wouldn't consider myself really good, because I always switch main character. I'm playing with mr game and watch these times.

I play competitive level melee, though I haven't really gone to tournaments. I've mostly just played with my brother, who was ranked in the top of New England at some point. I actually did win a small melee tournament at U-Con a couple weeks ago against some pretty decent players. My main is Fox.

First pro level video I remember seeing:

Couldn't find one with the music still there.

Ooooooooooh my gosh.

I love Brawl! Friends and I were playing it just last week actually. ONLINE. Which was pretty cool. We chose to battle on New Pork City which ended up being hilarious. Having all items on high only added to the fun and added to the random chaos.

I used to play dah Smash Bros. Now I just rage at kids who do. They always try to steal my tv when I bring it to tournaments that happen to have Smash as a side thing, since they don't bring their own setups and expect everyone else accomodate them. Brawl was good for modding my Wii though.

And Mark, you're doing it right dude, except New Pork City is so large to the point where it's just dumb. I'd rather play on the Wario Ware stage.

Does it still lag online?

Does a circus bear occasionally have trouble controlling its bowels while riding a unicycle?

I watched most of Pound V and I'll admit, a ton of upsets and hype out the ass!
PP 3-0 M2K, son

The only thing I don't like about New Pork City is that it's hard to attack someone with a Landmaster, but it feels awesome to have all that space to move around.

Yeah, hype all over that b`itch! PP dominated that sh`it. I wasn't sure how the Grand Final was gonna turn out, Armada was kicking ass starting around Round 2+. Then PP pulled wins out of his ass, somehow. I still need to see PP v M2K, I've heard rumors about there being ragequitting on M2K's part, is this true? LOL'd

It was great to see Axe vs Hbox too, never thought I'd see the day. Too bad Hbox didn't get anywhere near Semi-finals, I was actually surprised.

BombSoldier, huh? That's during the days when Ken was at the top. Good. Times. I play competitively, though I really suck and can never fight against good Marths. I main Puff and my 2ndary is Falco.

"TheLake" (Zelda player) lives near my area here in PA, and I've heard stories from my friends that he's mad good. I've never played him yet. I haven't went to any tourneys either, apparently, I missed /HOPE and /HOPE2 (I think this was the name). :/ I'll play tons of friendlies with people, and even money matches, but I'm still too newb to participate in an actual tourney. Plus, even if I did, I'd only have enough confidence to play with my Puff. Dx If I played Falco, I'd be missing a loooot of techs..

Yeah there's always that one guy who chills in a far corner and spams taunts the whole match. Another fun one is Arcade Donkey Kong stage and Wario Ware as stated above. Items on high is the only way to play.

I used to play Melee all the time with my older cousin, but around the time Brawl came out we stopped playing because he no longer has time and I'm stuck with computers except for the rare occasion where I have people to play online. I always felt the best way to play is with every explosive, bumpers, and such turned on.

That last match with PP at Pound 5 was great. The Pokemon theme had me cracking up.

It's hilarious when everyone accept one guy gets the star power up from those Wario Ware minigames. Everyone starts betting him up and he rage quits. That's what happens when you move and the screen says not to move. But, oh well.

Sometimes I enjoy spamming Mr. Game & Watch's number hammer thing, it feels awesome blasting people away with 9's. Or just Falcon Punching the entire match. Just jump into the crowd doing a Falcon Punch and watch the others fly away!

No one I played with lets anyone try to win the mini games, haha. There's always some jerk who screws it up for everyone else.

Also: Bunny Hoods and Poison Mushrooms only. Good luck trying to kill anyone.

Haha, yeah. I was thinking to myself "Oh, he's a goner" when I saw PP using Illusion, because that was a perfect time for Armada to either pull a Turnip, fair, or uair, but PP somehow made it back alive! Then it was more sickening when I noticed PP's tactics were mostly accurate and aggressive lasers, followed by some jabs2F-smash. It was some serious sh`it going on there. PP really has his tech-skills down, that was quite a display to see.

The only "Ragequitting" that I know was M2K forfeited to hbox, I believe it was him, when he was put into losers.

Holy crap. That vid is mind blowing and only 7 minutes in, reviving my interest in SSB.

Call me immature, but I giggled slightly when they first called him PP.

Not into competitive melee due to the fact that you have to be pro or you're gonna fail. I do play semi-competitive brawl with friends, though. I could probably hold my own in a lower level tournament. Lucas main, his techs with PK Fire crack me up and he's really fun to play.
