>Pineapple' Wrote:AP/ Hybrid morde> tank morde. Or in case you're unable to not immediately or everything in sight that's out of your familiarity range, or actually do some research and theorycrafting...Mordekaiser has a shield system. That much should be obvious to you. Mordekaiser charges his shield based on how much magic damage he deals, which in turn allows Mordekaiser to absorb damage from his foes. In order to deal more magic damage to charge his shield more, he has a few options: hit more stuff with his abilities, hit more often, and/or hit harder. AP allows Mordekaiser to hit harder, letting him charge his shield at ridiculous rates even if there's only two or three people around. Obviously he'll be destroyed in seconds if he doesn't have any survivability outside of his shield, since the shield has a pretty low maximum capacity. That's where the Armor and MR come in. Malphite has a somewhat different story in that Armor benefits one of his skills, and his Q allows Malphite to harass pretty well in addition to aiding temporary kiting or running. His ultimate is on a 1:1 AP ratio as well. Wait, why does that Amumu have Rabadon's? Hmm???

WillDaSnail Wrote:Oh. Never mind. ah well that explains your confusion. but yeah just about every champion has a move that scales with ap, and surprisingly enough, most champs who are normally not build ap, have moves that scale well with ap. Alistar, master yi, tristana, amumu, sivir, trynd, etc all have a move or two with high scaling. off the top of my head only garen and olaf dont have an ap scaling move.

KajitiSouls Wrote:Or in case you're unable to not immediately I've never had trouble with survivability to the point that I regret building ap/ hybrid morde instead of tank morde. Gunblade+ rylais dominates my mid game and late game I have a banshees for defense, 3k hp with items and sometimes thornmail. My 2 hextech gunblades keep my shield up all the time and the lifesteal/spellvamp help even more. I laugh at most of the fights I'm in because of how ridiculously hard I am to kill. As for 1v1 situations, this isn't EU and I rarely even have trouble 1v1 because I don't fight 1v1 without creeps to keep my shield up. I usually just kite them with E if they chase me and laugh when they finally decide to run away because they know they will die if they continue to chase. First real game ever with morde I went 16-3-x on SR, and my brother does the same. He was actually the reason I started playing morde a while back. Tank morde serves almost no purpose other than being unkillable. His damage is mediocre when built tank and he can't perform the functions of normal tanks. Tank morde= tank mundo= not better than damage based build.

I'd like to see you play a ![]() Is it me or I've been playing against caster-heavy teams nowadays? Its annoying sometimes, but I usually don't have problems once I get around nuking them.

Birdie Wrote:hmm didnt notice the lack of banshees. really surprised mana isnt a bigger issue, but you said it works. i do like mallet a lot though. if its working, keep with that build you posted I wanted to try the new QSS now that it has the same MR as Banshee's. I like it. It's cheaper and having control over my cleanse feels a lot better than having whatever flies at me first being what gets blocked. Saved my ass from a few Annie stuns that game. Being on a side lane might've helped with mana. I had to lay off phosphorus bomb a little more than usual but missile spam and physical last hits are where it's at when it's uncomfortable to get close to bomb. Once laning broke down it was no longer an issue. I do have some flat MP/5 yellows also.

Just so we're clear with QSS vs. BV, assuming reaction time wasn't an issue, QSS can selectively save you from CC and other debuffs in clutch moments (more so than Cleanse can aside from the obvious), but it does NOT save you from stuff like Cho'Gath's Feast. That's what BV is for.
2011-02-22, 03:17 AM
Yeah, BV isn't just for cc guys.
It also completely ignores the spell that hits you when the shield is up, so things like karthus ult and fling are avoided with BV, but not QSS.
2011-02-22, 03:22 AM
I know, I know. Everything is situational. Was facing Nunu, Annie, Tryn, Anivia, and Zilean.
2011-02-22, 03:54 AM
I'm up for bravery match too.
Also pure tank morde is just a meatshield with no threat, sure his ulti is scary but pure tank morde just lacks DPS, smart teams will ignore you since you have no CC lol. You can't stop them from getting to your squishies, but a hybrid morde is great indeed. But tank morde is a pub-stomper
