Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 General
Sorry about leaving. Had to eat dinner, and then decided to do some missions to polish up on my skills.

About the matches themselves: That was nothing short of really fun matches, Piggy and Spidey. Man, compared to the random people I had beaten in quick matches, you make all of them seem like utter scrubs. I need to combo better after seeing you guys string double digits easy. I won't lie though that I laughed heartily when I managed to scrape by a victory with a sliver of life. Was hilarious seeing my barely alive Sentinel knock out Tron Bonne with the killing blow because you did her super, or killing Hulk in the middle of his Gamma Charge with a move of my own. As for you Piggy, I need a different team when fighting against you. TOO CLOSE TO A MIRROR MATCH, AND I REALLY HATE THOSE.

Super armor? SO THAT'S WHAT THE GOLDEN GLOWING HSIEN KO HYPER WAS? No wonder she becomes so hax with it.

Need to work on timing better. Too many times I do the Hadoken motion to have Arthur fling weapons or Ammy fire Ice Bolts, and all that happens is they do a short ranged whiff. Not sure if it's my controller or not. Do cord ones respond better? Also kept sending my allies to their death by sticking em out before they finished recovering. So bad of me. Sad

Other comments:

Piggy: Hulk was insane with those single hits. Even on Sentinel they hit like a truck, and with anyone else they pretty much lost half their life in a couple hits. Gotta learn how to take care of Hulk better.
Dat Ammy Rosary mode was beast, strung up really good combos. Too many times it killed my characters, especially Sentinel.

Your PSN made me think of Chuckles the Silly Piggy. Was that your intention?

Spidey: That one match when I picked Arthur as my starting character when Hsien-ko was up, FFFFFff- at my noob mistake. I didn't pay attention to who I was fighting. Keep away character vs reflective character was a terrible idea.
I really like how you can rush so hard with Tron. Too many times I got corner raped by her.

Personal thoughts: I need to learn how to take advantage of Ammy's various weapons better. I am just very unfamiliar with the Solar Flare weapon and iffy with the Thunder Sword, although I'm liking Rosary for pretty much the same reasons you do, Piggy. Her hypers are pretty punishing if I catch your partner out. Zero I need to handle his speed better. His air dashing and the ability to weave to the opposite side has a lot of potential, least I managed to learn how to properly use his rainbow buster Hyper when before I always reserved the Hyper for his Shadow Clone. Sentinel, I need to block way more, and hadn't gotten the hang of his flight mode surprisingly.

I just came back from playing with my girlfriend. She's so cute, she was able to pull of some surprising combos with X-23 and Dante, she's barely learning the basic stuff.

Me, I kept getting comfortable with the new controls, I keep trying to switch characters with two attack buttons and trying to get used to the new games mechanics (Special button shenanigans, X-Factor cancelling, etc).

I'm liking HsienKo, Haggar, Super-Skrull, Dormammu and Morrigan. I'm also interested in seeing what Spencer can do. The only characters I don't like much at the moment is Ironman and Sentinel. : \

I've been focusing primarily on using assists to help Zero get in close and start a launch or short combo. Trish's traps and Dormmamu's Black Hole help a lot, but Dorm is pretty awkward for me, so I might swap him out.

Use Sent. I don't pick him because he's easy to use, I pick him because it's funny to see how much hate mail you get after a match.

I wasn't exactly asking for advice. And I hate Sentinel anyway.

Meh. Tron apparently has an infinite against Sentinel, but I don't really try to learn those because they're either too situational (and you need good set-ups for them, like the Akuma video), and because they tend to make fighting less fun.

I believe Tron's infinite involves hitting Sentinel up into the air when he's used as an assist and just spamming drill punch on him. Also kills the point character as well, I think, just because of Sentinel's huge hitbox keeping the combo going. In other words, knocks out 2 characters from 1 infinite. But it only works in a corner, I think. Haven't spent enough time looking it up, but there's a video of it somewhere.

So I can get one good hit on you and end that character by spamming the same loop? That's nice and all, but I personally don't find it enjoyable.

Edit: Found it, at 29 seconds:

Doesn't show the setup for it, but I someone explain it elsewhere.

Hey Piggy, it's going to be a bit longer before I'll be able to play you.

Eh, infinites are bound to be discovered, just amusing that Akuma of all people is one of the few whose infinite was discovered first.

*On a sidenote, how many others here are PS3 players? Only got Spidey and Piggy at the moment. Need moar.

From the looks of it, the Akuma infinite only works with X-Factor, so I don't think we'll really be seeing him all over the place.

Also, thanks to this game, I haven't had a husband for six days. :< I've only got about an hour or so put into the game, since he's been playing... pretty religiously this past week, to put it lightly. Surprised his eyes aren't more bloodshot.

If you guys want free wins I'll be happy to oblige, but it'll basically be the same as playing a dummy in training mode, I don't know how to do anything yet.

I'll be playing on the PS3, still awaiting my game as I've been saying in my past few posts.

PSN=Boeyoyo. Copy hasn't arrived yet. Will rage if my stick isn't compatible.

*Edit: X isn't needed for the infinite, it's just for overkill purposes. Though i'm curious as to if the input timing is easier in X over regular.

After seeing dante in the game, I decided to replay DMC4 on son of sparda mode today. Soyeah. Gonna be playing like a madman this week, however. Need to improve my Zero and hulk, as well as work on my second team of Tron, Deadpool, and Cap America. Spidey, your tron is terrifying, it be what inspired me to learn her insane combos. Deadpool has some great long range moves, as I've been ownt completely by a pro deadpool player atleast twice online. Plus he makes me giggle :3.

Zero, X-23 and Felicia is the best team of ever. Ever.

Also Jill gameplay. She looks awesome.

Dunno, she doesn't seem too fun to play, in my opinion. Looks like a more kicky X-23, who's not really my type of character. Though, that's subject to change if I learn her enough, I usually don't play grapplers either, and Haggar's one of my mains currently.

Also, Capcops took the video down, but I saw it earlier today. Possibly a re-upload somewhere, but I guess Capcom didn't want people seeing her gameplay until the week before she's released or something. I'm really more interested in seeing how they brought Shuma back, I played him back in the older games a lot, even in MvC2 where he wasn't nearly as good as he was in the previous installments.

It was up all day, I'm actually surprised it wasn't taken down sooner. Capcom pulled down those Oni Akuma and Evil Ryu videos from SSFIV AE that were discovered using an unlock code.

I've been having fun with Dormammu. I'm so proud of myself, I made a pretty cool combo with him. It needs 1 Meter, 3 Destructions.

58 Hits and 745k damage in corner.
56 Hits and 647k damage not in corner.

I've been mostly messing around with Dormammu, Super Skrull and Haggar. Any tips on them?

By the way, I'm playing it on XBox, my gamertag is LooseW. Feel free to add. : )
