Skullcandies can be good, but you're paying double the price for the same quality headphones you can get from any other brand. Their low-mid price range headphones are just the same flavor of crap sold in different packages.
Assuming your taste in headphones is limited to what you can get from Best Buy, you haven't heard real "good" headphones until you've listened through Sennheiser CX-300 (I or II)s or Klipsch S4s.
That or buy RE0s for $85.

Skullcandies are only great for appearance, so if you think you'd prefer that, sure. There are better options.
This
I'm actually going to be buying that eventually, mostly because I prefer noise-cancelling headphones, especially ones that can be folded. I've read up on a lot of reviews, not only from that site of course. I don't think I've recalled coming across negative reviews, if I did, then there wasn't many.
EDIT: Ben, F`UCK YOU. Stop posting something I wanted to post about first. F`uck.

Personally I can't stand full-size headphones. They look ridiculous when you're by yourself and obnoxious when you're in public. RE0s are probably the best IEM buds you can get, even disregarding the price.

I'll have to look into that a bit more. Actually, I'm trying to weigh out the pros & cons of both at the moment, hmm. Another friend is suggesting something for me too, and I'm really just reading a ton of reviews to see what other people thinks of it. I would like headphones that are reliable, have great sound quality, and perhaps foldable or noise-cancelling. 150 bucks = quite a lot to dish out for headsphones like that too, then again, it's only 25 more dollars than what I originally intended on buying.
Thanks for the suggestion, Ben! Gonna be reading up more into that tomorrow.

My friend actually just bought some 50 dollar bose headphones as well. Sound quality compared to mine? Lower. It has less bass than mine also. Only thing possibly better is slightly better materials.

Oh yes, that's the one my friend wanted me to get. He has a pair, and he LOVES it. He said that there wasn't any bad reviews for those either, and I checked Amazon, prices are around 33 USD. Very tempting, I might get this over the other options since I am running low on funding at the moment.
That and.. lifetime warranty.. wat~?

I was just at a little presentation on choosing headphones last night in my Audio Enthusiasts and Engineers group. The consensus on Skullcandies was that they were originally designed for people like skateboarders who might be falling all over the place while listening with headphones. So if you want a sturdy pair that may not sound amazing and you're willing to give a few more bucks so you don't have to risk busting your $200 headphones when you bust your ass, that's what Skullcandies are for.
But I think everyone can agree Beats by Dre suck.
