I would get runes first. You'll see the difference right after you get them. And runes does help, especially early game.

I'm not nerd raging, i know that it's a simple discussion but i swear when i talk. And you made me rage(Note that rage=annoyed. Rage=/=Nerd rage) because you go ahead and make the assumption that i'm saying you should get rylai's and abyssal on amumu when you play him. When i didnt say anything near that.
And luxury items are, well pineappleing luxury items. You get them because you want.
They're luxury items nothing else, i never said you should get them or work on getting them, but they're something you CAN GET if you want it. They DO serve a purpose but there are better item choices, i never said anything else and i never disagreed with you.
And AP yi is good early game but worthless lategame unless you get mega-fed and lategame an AD yi is a ton better, doesnt take long in a game for AD>AP on yi, where a sion can go both paths it's the same story, AP wins early game if you go for an early win but AD will rape lategame.

I don't take your post personally and they don't offend me and i do get enough fresh air tyvm.

And when i play i always need to try a lot of different builds, because what if the optimal build for others might not work for you but another build might? I try out close to everything on a champion i enjoy to find the balance and the items that work for me. I used to play kog'maw as pure AP. Then switched to a Caster-DPS hybrid with items such as nashor's tooth, rageblade and madreds. Then i ended up playing him in a third and fourth way and so on. Same for my rammus, started laning and then went jungle.
I alter my build according to what works for ME.
And i also said that amumu is a tank and that's his core, i said before in this thread that a good item on amumu is leviathan.

Every item in the game serves a purpose on just about every character be it small or large. I know the in's and outs of both ap yi and ad yi, both are good early and late but ad is obviously more viable being that he can nuke down everything not just squishies.

My whole point is when talking about luxury items try to encourage things that bring out a characters strengths to the fullest not things that half ass the job. Yes you may have said leviathan was a good item on him and thats great but stick to items that help him do his job (tank). That 2.6k gold burned on abyssal is really dumb, that could have bought a GA, a TM, a BV.. There's really too many better items to spend gold on abyssal, especially when casters get it.

AP Teemo is best Teemo, just saying.

Actually, when I hovered over my Despair skill with Rylai and Rabadon's Deathcap on, it showed up as +2% to Despair. :f6:

I had about 305-310 AP with those items on. Using the AP ratio for that skill (1 AP: 0.005%), I was supposed to get ~+1.6% to Despair (likely rounded up to 2%)

Yah but avoiding bush's isnt too much of an issue and many people buy banshee so it makes him a lot less useful than dps teemo. Yah poison and dart do damage but they do more on dps builds.

You know it'd be sooooooooooooooooo funny if you could just line up like 10 mushrooms in one area and if they hit them all depending on the damage they die altough quite cheap lol.

Looking at Maokai.....I may get him and test him out. He seems like a fun champ to play with. Plus he's the type of champ I prefer.

Edit: Just looked at the Maokai video. This is what I see:

Arcane Smash: Maokai's CC skill (slow/knockback). This is best comboed with Twisted Advance

Twisted Advance: Maokai's initiation skill. Since he's tanky, this would - naturally - initiate teamfights by stopping targeted enemies for a short duration. Combined with Arcane Smash right after, it could pretty much shut down squishies and any other targets with enough teammate support.

Tree Sapling: A nice harass/short-duration warding skill. Great for general harassment or to ward critical areas for a short duration (25 sec duration) without needing to fill up an item slot. This can also be used to deal additional damage.

Venegful Malestrom (ultimate): Best used in teamfights to protect teammates (reduces damage) and returns damage back to the enemy once the skill is canceled.

For skillbuilds, Im going to guess he can be built this way (general tanking purposes):

Tree Sapling (1) --> Twisted Advance (1) ---> Arcane Smash (1) ---> Twisted Advance (3) ---> Venegful Malestrom (1) (Level 6) ----> Arcane Smash (2) ---> Twisted Advance (5) ---> Arcane Smash (3) ---> Venegful Malestrom (2) (Level 11) ---> Arcane Smash (5) ---> Tree Sapling (2) ---> Venegful Malestrom (3) (Level 16) --> Tree Sapling (5).

Of course, if you want to focus on harassment more (deal more damage), switch things around, and focus more on Tree Sapling .

played against maokai once today. He was duoing bottom lane as was i, didnt notice him much other than throwing his bomb seeds. They did ok damage, not as much as zil bombs though. The guy build rod of ages and i think was working on an archangel staff. He really didn't do much at all during the game, he finished 0-4-4ish. First judgement, worthless as a caster but it was only one game and i really think he should be built full on tank pretty much. Going to withhold final judgement until later of course.

Had an epic game as AP Teemo again. I went 20/8/11 and lost, but only because my team was just . . . ugh. We went back and forth for around an hour, with each side getting an ace or taking out inhibs. Then the last 5 minutes or so Yi Backdoored our inhibs and turrets. I killed him. Started defending the Nexus with shrooms. TF tries to Ult in to finish off the Nexus. I kill him easily because lol 700+ Ap at this point. Next Yi and MF come and I kill Yi, injure MF before dying. Team is killing in opponents base. They back in time to kill MF. Then they run off towards the opponents base. TF ults in and easy win. T_T F*CKING TEAM ARGH!

yeah no clue how he was able to buy him. but yeah the way he played him the game was pretty much 4v5

Edit: Does anyone know what the Riot Points to dollars (USD) ratio is? Aka for every dollar, how much RP do you get?

Am I the only one who thinks the new IP scaling sucks? old wins were 110~IP for me, now I've got some 65 IP for fast wins and 95 IP on longer ones, I haven't reached a 1 hour game after the change but still... it seems lower to me.

The main difference I've noticed is the uber short games, where they surrender as soon as they can. Only happened once so far, but it does let you play more games I guess so your total IP rewards should be higher. Otherwise I don't really notice how much IP I get, since I've been spending it on my rune page when I have enough.

I'm going to main ryze for a while, building a runepage just for him right now.

Last game (my 2nd with the new ryze) I scored a quadra kill with him late game! I'm definately liking
the low cooldowns and the emphasis on mpen/mana in your build.

I don't know, I tried the new ryze but I liked the old one better.
The shorter time in the ultimate is really noticeable, same for the trade of AP for Spell Vamp. Also, he's as squishy as it gets, I would always get focused and killed in 2 hits, maybe my item build wasn't right but it's a very simillar build to what I use on Heim, who is also squishy (Tear > shoes > Arc. Staff) but I rarely die with Heim. Anyway, if I play it again, I would start with a catalyst into RoA, then tear and then a banshee's...

That you can't try and do something for fun and alter your build. You can't open your mind and grasp that people might enjoy a champion more building him another way. Some people build AP MF because they have fun that way. I guess games aren't meant for fun in your book?
Seems like this guy would never try to do a bravery match,and talking of bravery match anyone up for one tonight? I got time and i'm on vacation.

Also there's a difference to buying an item that helps your champion somewhat and buying something retarded. Abyssal and rylai help amumu dealing damage and slowing enemies and surviving more. No matter if there are better items and that his job isn't to deal damage they help, meki pendant doesnt help any of them.

The fact that you think it's trolling and not just testing different builds to see what you enjoy, it makes me sorry for you
What if Will has more fun building amumu with some AP items? Should he drop having fun for the sake of doing what is the very best? No. He should have fun.
