Design the 2011 MapleCalendar Event Winners

The winner is jsut a clusterfuck of events arragned together.

Here's my theory.

People don't enter because they think many people will enter and theirs will pale in comparison (a la Karen), but in reality no one enters and their choice of picking prizes is quite limited and we're given the view that they pick choices with no talent.

And to be fair, the due date was too soon anyway. *had no time*

I got fooled by the posting of the notice here. Whoever did that said that the contest would be due on the 18th... but now I look at the notice again and find out it was due on the 8th. I actually was working on mine, and ugh... I'm so mad at myself right now.

I even had something really awesome going too.

First one is good but... But... fucking seriously, it's an average submission, there must be a LOT of better submissions, no offense, but it doesn't even deserve being in the top 4, much less in first place.
Second is a little irrelevant, like i said, not that they are bad, but there are a lot of better options.

Jeeze, if these were the results for that, wonder what the design winner will be.

I must have no sense of artistic talent because I really like the simplicity of the second place one. Third and fourth place are pretty good too.

If these are the decisions for the calendars, this makes me wonder what Nexon will pick for the MapleStory content design contest.

Well on a brighter note I think they'll take the content idea a lot more seriously. It has to be viewed and judged by the dev team and since NEXON already told us openly that the Am team works VERY closely with the Korean team we can assume that it will be double judged. I think crap like this is sent to a completely different set of people and if even that maybe only one person looks at em.

Also, did anyone notice the first place image is cut off, with Cynus Knights written in there, and the fact he organizes them by the time they came in, but said that Dual Bladers came BEFORE pirates?

Hell, he said CYGNUS (or cynus in his case) KNIGHTS came before pirates (I know this happened in EMS, but this isn't EMS), and he forgot about arans.

I'm feeling a petition coming on.

May I say, HOW is the first one better than the rest? It pales in comparison to the other entries which actually have art.

I honestly think they just use a random number generator to choose.

That, the lack of Arans... Just shows the guy who designed this knows nothing about the game, how did Loose's and other good entries got rejected, when THAT won the first prize? pineappleing seriously.

Arans not being released, Cygnus coming BEFORE pirates, something called Hairstyle Madness was mentioned, but the first hero class release was completely forgot.
God, i knew Nexon's judging skills were bad by other contests, but this one is a new record.

How does THAT win second place?

The first and second place are unbeliavable.

Second one sounds like "Hurr durr, lemme get this firework brush and put it in an awesome black background for the lulzy effects, oh, wait, it's too dark for fireworkz, lemme use the glow effect in photoshop!."
He didn't even know how to use such tool, because when you use it wrongly, it makes a white object acquire the glow's colour, and look terribly bad like those fireworks.

What was Loose's submission anyway?

It's like Nexon blindfolded themselves and took random picks....
