rhpot03 Wrote:The belief that 200m is a low cap is perhaps a sign of the beginning of an unhealthy economy in our own GMS caused by the inflation that has been happening in the last few years. 200m was a decent amount of meso to work with years ago, but nowadays every new player starts off with that much.
If anything, it's not EMS that needs a better tax table, but rather GMS that needs a better meso sink (perhaps guild skills?)
Being someone who has acquired "wealth" for the first time in over 6 months, that seems to be an over-exaggeration of my over-exaggeration. 200m is not "EXTREMELY low" but it's not extremely high either. Basically anything over 200m gets taxed a 30m meso BASE RATE, so if you're selling something for 200m you're really selling it for 170m. Seeing as there are literally hundreds of 200m++++ transactions DAILY (guestimating, i'm not an EMSer, but that's not an unreasonable guess by EMS standards imo), this meso sink is going to take a massive toll on the EMS market. So big in fact that the sink would probably do it's job within a week's time, but that's probably an over-exaggeration too.

I refuse to feel bad for people who are half the problem with overinflated prices for everything. Frankly, I'd love for GMs tog et a meso sink like that. Lord knows we need it

LOL, This is just not the solution. I really had to laugh after people sent their Emails Of Inquiry so nexon would allow them to trade, and trust me, i laughed at nexon. They really fucked things up. Good thing im poor, otherwise i would be now .

A percent reduction of all mesos? Jesus pineapple, that's terrible. .-.

A % reduction on all mesos while they take more time to investigate is actually quite a good move. Props to Nexon Europe for this decision and the well-elaborated posts.
The idea isn't to protect legits in the short run, but to protect them (as well as newer players and the economy) in the long run.
To the person who said they went from 2 bil to 400 mil...sure, you had 2 bil mesos and are now down to 400 mil...you got an 80% mesos reduction off your total. Now apply that to some hacker who's had 20 bil mesos from hacking. They would be down to 4 bil.
Now let me ask you, is it harder for you to earn 16 bil mesos or 1.6 bil mesos? With hackers having so much mesos and able to control the market with such enormous amounts of mesos, how do you think that would affect newer players...players who have not had market experience? They would walk into FM, see prices at 200 times of what they currently have. Do you think they would be likely to keep playing?
Okay, you may be thinking: "I don't care if they keep playing or not. They can quit...or they can do a quest and sell something (and hopefully not get ripped off) and get rich too and enter the market."
But what are the chances of that? How many new players really have a good economic foundation to think like that?
So...chances are, the newer players will quit. And with that, down goes the supply of overall items - which means that prices will remain high and stay high. In light of this, your 2 bil from legit merchanting will be worth MUCH less compared to the hacked 20 bil mesos...as opposed to you having 400 mil compared to a hacker's 4 bil - because it is obviously harder to legitly earn 16 bil mesos than 1.6 bil mesos.
Then when (some of) those hackers get their mesos completely removed/banned eventually...your 400 mil will be worth a lot more than it used to anyway. Give it time (don't spend large)...and your market should stabilize for the better with your new tax system.

You don't seem to get it.
Hackers got their mesos for free, i sold gear to get it.
The price of stuff in FM hasn't changed ONE bit because hackers got all their accounts back from hell-ban.
And FYI yea i don't give a pineapple about if other players got a chance at the market. Ofcourse i do, but how fair is it that me who wasn't even fucking ACTIVE during the exploit, i only logged in to chat, i lost 80% of my mesos and lost one of my most precious items in the trade and those 400m mesos are worthless now.
Also new players got it just as easy, they start at one place which is selling drops/rewards from quests, and if the mesos are inflated there'll be more mesos for them also which makes no difference to them. In fact they'll have more mesos in general which makes buying pots do nothing to their wallet.
And Idk why you're trying to compare my legitly earned mesos to the hackers hacked mesos. He wont need to earn 16b legitly. And odds are he had 120b or more on several mules leaving him with 24b or more. And here's the best thing, HE GOT IT FOR FREE.
Legits got flipped off, i know of people who lost 20b from these reductions, people who made their mesos almost a year ago and who was just waiting for potential by now.
And investigate? They're done investigating. Their solution was the reduction + increased taxes.
pineapple them.

I've explained everything I needed to. You obviously don't think about anything other than yourself when it comes to mesos, so let's just drop the subject because you fail to see the bigger picture anyway.

What?...
YOU DON'T GET IT MATE.
The economy is just as pineappleed up as it was before the meso reduction.
Everything is inflated 300%-400% compared to before the exploit.
I wouldnt mind the meso reduction IF THE ECONOMY HAD BEEN FIXED WITH IT.
NOTHING changed.
Learn2read, seriously.
I wrote "The price of stuff in FM hasn't changed ONE bit "
Aka, nothing's fixed therefor the reduction flipped off legits for no fucking reason.

People who had hard earned money are now fucked because hackers decided to make their own. Now hackers with 50bill plus are STILL sitting on top with billions of mesos while players who worked hard for their billions are now the bottom of the food chain. How is that fair? He's not being selfish he's being reasonable. It's more or less like NEXON just stole all his hard work and gave it to the hackers.

lets just say that nexon made one of the biggest mistakes ever by taking away the results of hard work of a lot of EMS players.
You could say''whatever it's just a game'', but those people have passion and they enjoy what they are doing a lot. So now, they all had a massive setback, and they can all start over. let's hope nexon will figure out how to give those people something back, this can not be left like this.

Hackers have the meso, but the ones who control the prices are the sellers. People know that hackers still have lots of meso and are consciously putting their items for sale for a high price.
Buy low, sell high. Basics of merching. That's what people are doing: they got items from before the meso exploit and know are trying to sell it REALLY high while they can. Technically that's "legit".
Unless Nexon literally removes ALL mesos from the game, the economy will be screwed as long hackers have meso and keep buying overpriced items. As soon the hackers stop buying, people will notice that it's useless to try selling a scroll worth 1m for 50m because no one is buying it anymore.
