Returning bandit starting new
#1
Greetings thieves of Southperry,

So now that I've got my head around all the new stuff since I left the game last time, and after experiencing the stupidly fast rate that I can now level to 120, I find myself already thinking about gearing for 4th job. What should be the typical approach that I take to gearing now with all the new stuff? For example, last time it was all about; 1st priority: getting as much watk as you could for the least mesos spent. 2nd priority: keeping your dex low but having enough dex from equips to wear high level daggers.

I'm wondering what the difference is between str shadower and luk shadower, mostly what each one costs to get the same damage out.

Is there anywhere I can look online to check what shadowers are currently wearing?

Also, what are some easy-to-get and solid pieces that'll help me to begin with gearing?

Many thanks.

In terms of gearing you should consider keeping your dex as low as possible and making sure you can equip 71+ equips for their potential stats.

The difference between STR and LUK Shadowers is mainly the ability to wear Dragon Khanjar and regular Khanjars which are attack shields that give a decent boost. Not only that but STR daggers have a higher base ATT than LUK daggers and to most people look more aesthetically pleasing.

Thanks for the reply. What kind of demand are on Khanjars/Dragon Khanjars at the moment? And I checked out the thread you linked, which was a bit helpful but seemed to be mostly of really high end stuff.

Khanjars are around 50m-150m depending on how many lines.
Dkhanjars are about 300m-max meso depending on attack/lines/rarity.

Don't know what server you're on, but an avg clean khanjar (7att 7slot) will run you 15-30mil in Broa, with DKhanjars being much more expensive. A khanjar is a very good starter w.att shield for the cost.

Edit: Well it seems they vary considerably based on server, going from the above post (unless you meant potentialed prices only). You should still be able to get an unpotentialed or junker 2line 7att one for fairly cheap.

I'm on Scania, didn't think to mention it because Locked is from there too.

Nice to know that getting hold of a Khanjar is seemingly easy, might go for str shadower because yeah I do think the daggers look better (and they seem to be cheaper than luk daggers as well).

If you're in a guild that CWKPQs often enough, you can get one for free a khanjar free from the bonus rooms.

Dkhanjars are maybe cheaper now due to the gach box, but since there's a lot of crap in there, prices haven't seen a considerable dip.

Also hunt for potentialed gear drops from onsters.

My pants on my shadower only add a few stats, but with potential the pants become +15 dex and +7 Luk +2 str, which is a considerable amount of stats. Granted stats like these are extremely rare, with the newer drop rate, things should be fine.

Not sure if this counts as a necro, but oh well.

I'm a luk Shadower (KradiaGMS, level 141) , with 4 base Str, 87 with equips.
I am too poor to afford a Dragon Khanjar, but I find that my range is decent compared to actual str shadowers.
I have high dex (lol) base 121, but with base str of 4 I can focus on luk A LOT more.
Even though I have about 7% luk from potential, I have a decent attack range.

Once I magically pull NX out of my bum, I'm going to cube my 3 line equips and go for at least 40% luk.

Being mildly unfunded I can Zak solo in 1:26.
Not impressive but still decent considering I'm a poor dude.
P.S. I get talked at a lot for soloing zak, but I only do it during the A.M. (Pacific time), and usually all channels are open so I'm not hogging a channel.

The ask a thief thread works most of the time for your questions.

If you can CWKPQ for a khanjar, by all means do so- cheap and okay exp for you.

If you have a shield >> than 7 attack, then don't bother with the khanjar. Just potential your shield. IF you can afford a higher attack shield, go for the Dkhanjar. They go for 300-450 mil. then potential that.

Protip: Do not start adding points into STR until 120+. In the meantime, focus on keeping your DEX as low as possible.

STR Shadowers only work if you're low-stat (You want your DEX lower than 70 or 80) otherwise they suck and there's no point in putting in that extra effort to balance three stats.

If you can afford a CHTP and a CZhelm, you're practically set. However, with a simple MoN, you'll probably have to get your dex to at least 70 to wear a Pescas (160 dex). It's not a big deal, IMO.
