I like reused events if they were good. It allows for newer players to experience the same great thing, and old players to relive the nostalgia.

They've given out charms as far back as I can remember f3
But yea, you can trade chocolates and ribbons and stuff for 3 day hearst which work like charms.

They also have your name on them and are repeatable every hour(?). The basket is only available once though.
