The Archer Discussion Thread
#41
Well, I'm a little late. I usually lurk, but might as well input Biggrin You can call me Mychal. I'm a 159 BM atm, slowly training on BGA/BGBs. Had my archer for about 3 years or so, along with other characters.

Well like I said, that was pre-BB and I had level 1 Inferno by then. But even still, think about it; Push them all to one side, bomb them to keep them away from you (stun). With Rain, you gotta get closer to em. The combo's a pot-saver as well. :b Inferno's better than Bomb, damage-wise, but if you're going to Bains, those are resistant to fire, aren't they?

(Note: I have never gone to Bains, so I have no idea about the map layout.)

IIRC, Inferno > Arrow Bomb damage wise, even on fire resistant monsters. And thanks, Punch!

Yeah, Inferno was doing a bit more then Bomb, but Inferno doesn't stun =l

...

So I tried Lycans and Bains during 2x event.. and both of them, I got 5% every 8 minutes (Warrior Elixir)
D=
Is that even good? Felt slow .-.

Bains map was easier I think.. and a bit better when I used my Hurricane-Walk from left to right, and Arrow Bomb when mobs of 3 or higher are in my way..
=X

Not on fire resistance. Sometimes damage isn't everything and the survivability helps a lot more.

Does anyone even really add to dragons breath anymore?

yes
gathers mobs and creates breathing room
and by 200 you'll have everything except thrust/eagle/arrow blow maxed anyway
so whatever

I have always had at least one point in it, it's really convenient.

Forget that.

Come the next big revamp, give us a new mob skill in 4th job that replaces Vengeance (seriously, is it some kinda joke from Nexon Korea? What in the world is the point of a passive Power Guard + automatic knockback skill when Dragon Pulse already exists and us archers aren't supposed to be taking touch damage in the first place?), or a new skill that upgrades both Inferno (increased range and damage/DoT %?) and Arrow Rain (increased range and allow it to multi-hit?) in some way.

I used to back when there was a minimum distance.. now that there isn't one.. I find dragons breath a waste. I'm much more content using power knock back lol.

I saw their sense in vengeance... a way to reflect some damage that you're inveitably going to take but why.. WHY does it have to be melee bow damage? Another gripe is just the activation rate and the distance it has.. most of the time it doesn't hit anything.

Perhaps instead of having vengeance in it's current form they could change it to something of more use like.. stance or some sort of damage buff.. like.. take damage and store some of it up to X number of times for a final release.

Power Knockback is a skill with limited range. Dragon Breath has some range, which can be used to push mobs coming to you. There's a difference.

My issue with Vengeance is that it's PASSIVE. That's kind of not good when you want to pass through a map without pissing monsters off. They should have at least made it active if they wanted to actually make it useful. For that reason, I'm not putting points in it for a LONG time.

Don't ever add points into it. Even at 200, leave it at 0. It's trash.

I'm still wondering why Phoenix doesn't burn (DoT) mobs AND bosses..

Just doesn't make sense.

Because it's pointless if inferno already does that. If you're that desperate for DoT damage you could alternate with inferno every few seconds, which would just make you lose DPS in general.

It's not pointless, and I'm not desperate?

If Phoenix is already a Fire Element, there's not reason it shouldn't burn.
Just because Inferno does the same?
Okay, I'll just alternate between Hurricane and Inferno when I boss just to add DoT..
No, that'll make me loose DPS and of course I wouldn't. But if Phoenix could do that for me, that'd be pretty great and a tiny boost in damage.. seeing as BMs need it.

I can't think of a summon that does DoT.
