Original League of Legends (LoL) Thread
B> A way to anticipate Ganks. Got out of a game with Kaji and I ended up falling for the gank trap 3 times in a row. Granted Kaji gave me a couple useful tips on how I can gank effectively. I just need to not get myself killed in the process lol

It's probably just self control if anything. Learn to not go too deep into enemy territory and get myself owned
Wards. Call MIAs. Wards. Wards. Wards. Wards. Wards. Wards.
If you've passed the river and and A) Aren't sure where enemies are, particularly a jungler or mid if you're in top/bot or B) haven't warded in a decent spot to see it coming, you should be very careful. If you don't have escape summoner abilities or spells up, you should just back off.

I feel like I've discovered some great mid/late game (not-so-)secret regarding minion waves. If you're repelling some huge ball of minions at your tower, you've gotta push it all the way back to river and/or help on the minions until you have two waves of your own present, then the ball will swing back strongly in your favor and make it to the enemy's tower.

Yeah, that's what Kaji "Pro Tip'd" me on lol
I only have the problem when I'm not in the middle as Ashe, otherwise I'm fine 95% of the time.
And know when you're sticking your neck out too far. If you do, the opponent(s) might take advantage of that and just cut you off.

Make sure to buy 1-3 wards every trip back early game, unless you're at mid, then you can occasionally buy a ward for dragon, but your jungler should be doing that most of the time.

Remind your team to call MIA's

EDIT: Oh, and NEVER push your lane if you have a jungler/ the enemy has a jungler.

If there is no jungler in the game do whatever.

So NEVER be auto-attacking minions. Go for the last hits only.
Thanks everyone for the tips. I'll definitely try to apply them in the coming games.
Also is there a "decent" ward spot for mid in case I still want to anticipate the gank traps or whatnot? Probably the Brush on the left and right, if anything?

@Pineapple. I'm really effective at last hitting. I pretty much have it down no problem, although I do slip up and get a minion to a sliver of HP off and on D:

That's great rofl. Don't worry about it too much, it happens to everyone. And I do mean everyone

Not only that, but I saved you from the exact same gank trap twice (almost three, but Alpha Strike got you at the last second) before all that happened.

Honestly, since Yi is in the free champion rotation this week, it's not the best idea to be busting out mad Ashe moves. Yi is pretty anti-Ashe. And if you insist on continuing, do so with extreme caution.

Oh yeah, Dark Link has last-hitting down quite nicely. Personally I'm wondering how he can handle last-hitting when he's trying to control a champion with horrible auto-attack animation such as Soraka...
either in the bush or i like to place it in the little intersection into their jungle by wraiths/red buff. Right on that little ramp.

EDIT: quote fail, responding to link

For the Summoner's Rift Map...

If you're laning bottom or top: Put wards in the river bushes that are located near the bottom or top lanes. If you're at bottom, do that and also ward Dragon if you can. Some people actually ward the river themselves (Junglers mostly do this in case counter-junglers cross the river and come in their area of operations. It is also helpful to see those who are coming down for you 5 secs before they try to gank you).

For middle lane: in the middle of the map, there are two grassy areas to the left and right of you. I would ward it if I were you; those places are nice places for opponents (or you) to hide.

Late game, people tend to ward Baron to make sure the other side does not get it.
Later in the game, wards are still OP. I found that the three-way grass-less intersections near mid make excellent spots. The grass around Golem is also great shyt, as not only does it watch golem, it's at an incredible hotspot of intersections in the jungle.

*reminisces about teleporting to insta-gib Shaco and then double-killing bottom lane*

Yeah, Yi's always been my bane and it didn't take long to realize how brutal he is against Ashe.

I used to play Bone Clinkz in DotA years ago, and he had the worst auto attack animation in the game by far, so I've kinda grown accustomed to it lol
I definitely wanna try Twitch out whenever I get the chance, since I read he is the LoL version of Clinkz and he was always my favorite hero, even though he was more so a solo hero due to lack of party / CC skills.
Ooh, Twitch is a hard sell, but his animation is decently short and consistent. He's pretty weak early game and in general. However, he's very notorious for being able to wipe out entire teams with physical damage. Almost every AoE or multi-target ability is magic damage, and any such thing based off of physical damage is either small in size or not very multi at all. A farmed Twitch's ult is on a whole level of its own however, and is one of the most scariest things to behold.

Twitch is terrible in his current state Frown
Smurfed with Shen today. 3 wins, two losses. I think I can say that my second go-around with Shen wasn't a failure like the first.

Losses : 1/7/11, 2/4/5
Wins : 2/1/12, 5/1/12, I forget but worse than the other two. I got a triple kill somehow in that 5/1/12 game. In one of those wins, there was a Renekton who was bragging about he was "on steroids", but he only got all that gold because I had to ult in and save him three or four times.

EDIT : Also, Vorpal Blade is amazing harass. It does enough damage (magic, too) to be worth using as harass, but is weak enough to fly under their radar until they're at 50-75% HP.
I just had a pregame with 4 ap squishies that wanted a tank so I naturally picked eve and they were seriously going to let the game go down like that...

My faith in humanity is lost atm.

Had to change my pants after watching this.

He told me what he builds, when he builds it, and such.

Can't wait to try this build out.
Just played with my IRL friend who's a first timer on LoL. Played Shen, and never thought this would be a fuc'king disaster.

He made some VERY fundamental mistakes. I won't bother to list them out because I'm just very saddened how he's level 6 yet he hasn't had them down. And you guys will laugh at it. And he doesn't know how to play Sona, worst of all. I had to get myself killed 4 times just to save him. Had he used him correctly, I wouldve been much better off. I was very, very close to ragequitting.

(On a good note, I managed to utilize Stand United to save my Lux teammate. Kind of the warm fuzzy moment)

Now I dunno if I'm in the mood to play more LoL tonight. I can't believe I'm pulling a Kaj. Literally. Now I really know how he feels. >_>

Knowing how to play the game will do that to you.
