Well just saw this in insoya, it seems that at 187 with 3.7k to his primary stats, he was able to break 100k on his dmg range, and he is a mechanics.
That's real awesome.
I wonder if there are any classes with 3.7k to their primary stats and able to break 100k on their dmg range.

I'm not sure what you're talking about:
% pot >< damage
% to your main stat will have the same effect for all classes, since the dmg formula
Multiplier * (4 * main stat * %potential) * (Attack / 100) = %pot * damagewithoutpotential
is the same for all classes. Unless you add to secondary stats of course, where you could say thieves and especially bandits are at disadvantage since they need alot of that to be able to equip stuff more than say bowmen, and warriors are at an advantage since they don't need dex at all.
But seems more you're talking about
% pot >< Range
Well all (classes/weapons) have different multipliers, their ranges will differ. This is (or should be) balanced by giving skills with more % to the classes with a lesser range multiplier.

I believe there was a NL with 4k luk and 130k range or so.

Well suppose you have a hero with 4k str, a nl with 4k luk, db with 4k luk and say a mechanics with 4k dex.
Assuming they have reached the optimum weapon attack possible for their class,
then mechanics would deal a higher dmg generally than hero,nl and db, if we are comparing those 4k primary stats.

I would be impressed if that was his range BEFORE buffs. But i see Dark aura and Echo of hero that gives a good amount of Range iirc.

Look how much %dex he has.
He has almost +200% dex if you don't take into account how much dex his gear adds by itself.
Is getting that much added even possible in GMS?

My post didn't exclude that. I said:

1) Main stat
2) Attack
3) Dmg multiplier / type weapon used
4) Skill %
1 and 2 is the same for all classes (kinda, thieves need more dex etc). And 3 and 4 are tweaked to make all classes balanced, for example mages have a low multiplier, so they have high skill %. Etc.
Potentials only add to 1 and 2 who are used by all classes equally, so they are just. Imagine +100% skill dmg for BM's: LOL

% equipment calculates after Base+Stats Given by equipment. Maple Warrior only Gets Base iirc.

Actually 2 is not the same for all classes.
You know, the old "claws have less att than swords or bows, which is why apples do a lot more for NLs than they do for Heros or BMs".
(Also, for 1, Knights of Cygnus have more main-stat than other classes at the same level, but since they can't go beyond level 120 that's just me being nitpicky).
4 is not relevant for the question of damage range displayed in char stats, although of course it's relevant for actual damage dealt.

Damage range is a balance between attack and stats (as well as a multiplier). Mechanics get 70 extra passive attack so it's really not that impressive, even with all that extra potentialed stuff.
Pro people know how to balance attack and potential with their equips (AKA 10 atk 6% stat PAC vs. 18% stat clean cape), and I doubt that Mechanic was pro enough to do that.

Don't forget that Mechanics can in theory chaos scroll their engine to 20 att, giving mech's about 100 passive extra watt over other classes... (90 after Chaos...lolnerf?)
Also, don't forget their 20% damage boost from the Amplifier-bot skill.
But yeah... The real "power" comes from NX... The question is, why on earth do some players "invest" 5000 dollars to "achieve" these stats in a free to play game? Just to show off? :/

Precisely. The only plausible reason why people spend so much is because they want to show off their damage and how "pr0" they are. My guess is they don't feel accepted IRL and to counter this they try to be extra good in MS. If people gawk over their damage and become jealous they have successfully done what they set out to accomplish-- to be recognized. It may seem a bit harsh to say, but I can guarantee you this is the case in most situations.
However, there are situations where people just love MS so much they spend thousands of dollars simply because they are rich and want to support Nexon. And also rare situations where people can legitimately make billions of mesos by merching all the time. There probably are people that started from day 1 and played up until now that acquired well over 10b mesos without spending nx at all, but these people are usually business savants who really should be out in the real world using their skill to actually make REAL money and not be playing a game.

Sorry, you are new to the site. Devil is an old-time member who will make the exact same comment on Maple Story in every thread you go. Just forget about him.

KMS always puzzles me. They lack onyx apples yet they always have comparable if not better ranges than people in GMS.
I guess most of this can be attributed to double pends/potential-able rings, but still pretty hot.

Yeah exactly. With double pendants and 6/3/3 potential'able rings, its not that difficult to get 200% main stat. There would be plenty of people here with 200% main stat or greater if we had access to all the slots kms does.

Ehmm.. I've been merchanting legitly since day one and even though I got hacked and came back alittle over 8 months ago I made billions without spending a dime. its not hard to do and making money in ms has in no way helped me do so in real life O_O, if theres a way to apply merchanting in maple to making money IRL then please tell me because I believe I'm quite good at the former.

Many of the tactics used by maple merchants are rightly illegal in the real world because they discourage a fair marketplace. Others don't work because it's much easier to search for buyers/sellers. But you can still do similar on eBay and other auction sites.

Not everyone can merch, they just don't have the paitence or skillset to follow through successfully. Those who can merch (the really, really, successful ones) obviously have a good mind for business. Most people think merching is just buying low and selling high, and therefore think that it's super easy. There is a lot more at play. You have to know when to take advantage of opportunities and when is the right time to act on deals for the most profit. You have to acknowledge what is popular and what isn't. You have to know the current prices of everything, because prices fluctuate so much. You also have to know about inflation, why is happens and when it does. If you can do all these successfully or you think it just comes naturally to you and it shows due to your total mesos, there is no reason why you can't apply the sames principles in real life business.

All really common sense, none of those are skillsets, it's really who's more asserative to take the time to make those moves.
