Do you ever look at a picture or watch a video or listen to a song and think, "Yeah. Mankind kicks ass. We can do anything. Seriously. Our species is unstoppable. Nature will bend to our whim. The only thing that stands in our way is ourselves, but when that aspect of us steps to the side, we can achieve greatness"?

Yeah, that's Costco. Do you ever go into a superstore like Costco and ponder the manufacturing and transportation logistics we've implemented to make a store like that possible? It boggles the mind, the bulk and variety of product we can bring to the store down the street from you. I can't help but walk into a store like that, take a deep breath and think "Yes. Mankind is incredible."

The physical limitations of the body melt before practice and perseverance.

And then there's space. Nothing makes ya think "FU'CK YEAH HUMANITY!" like that fact we've left the goddamn planet.

Your whole life is but a grain of sand compared to the amount of years the universe has been in existence; and you'll most likely be forgotten by everyone within a few generations, unless you manage to do something that'd get your name noted in books. At best, the largest thing you'll ever really contribute to this world that will leave a lasting mark of your existence is your children, who may or may not leave behind anything more than you have when they've passed.

In other words, your existence is meaningless in the grand scheme of things.

EMRACE IT. YOU ARE A PART OF THIS. WE ALL ARE. Do you realize how insane it is that we're even having this conversation? With a few keystrokes and clicks you've taken MILLENIA of mankind being unable to spend any portion of his life outside his immediate community or have his thoughts displayed for even the smallest audience other than his family and neighbors and you've said: "FU'CK THAT SH'IT. I CHOOSE THE INTERNET. I CHOOSE FREEDOM OF KNOWLEDGE AND AN INFINITE CAPACITY TO LEARN. HEREIN LIES MY MIGHT AND FORTITUDE. RESPECT IT." This is the technology with the power to topple governments in 140 characters or less, the power to fit the gist of mankind's entire knowledge base into a series of semiconductors no bigger than a single textbook, access it at any time and shout, "NOW I KNOW!" THIS is what you are a part of. THIS is what makes us unbeatable. THIS is the strength of man. Not in the strength of a single man, but the force of a billion little ideas, gestures, and actions coming together to MARCH RUTHLESSLY INTO THE FUTURE. THIS IS YOUR TIME. THIS IS OUR TIME.

That's pretty pessimistic.

I like to think in a smaller scheme, in which in one point of my life I'm affecting someone else's life in a way or another.

EDIT: hahaha, Madanthony you're the best bro ever. Become the spiritual leader of the world and I'll create a cult around you.

All made possible by people that have actually left existing marks in history for others (that also leave marks on history) to build off after their deaths. You and everyone you know will most likely not belong to this group of individuals that make a lasting change and leave behind something useful for future generations.

What if you affect their lives in a negative way? Would it have been better if you were never born at all? What if you affect the lives of people you don't really care much for in positive ways, unintentionally, but affect those you truly care for negatively? Would you say still be grateful that you at least affected someone's life positively?

What if your life is but a small stepping stone for someone else to walk over on the way to the top. Would you say it was a necessary sacrifice to make for the betterment of that person?

WE CLIMB EVER CLOSER TO GODLINESS ON THE BACKS OF OUR FOREFATHERS. IF MY ROTTING CORPSE IS BUT A STEPPING STONE FOR THE NEXT MAN BEHIND TO GET HIS ROTTING CORPSE A LITTLE CLOSER FOR THE NEXT MAN TO GET HIS ROTTING CORPSE CLOSER YET, THEN SO BE IT. Some of us are just metaphorically very fat.

EVEN SOUND CAN'T KEEP UP.

Kurtle, I'll trade you a day of me being your Courage Wolf for a day of having a southern collegiate drum line follow me and play for me wherever I go for no less than 3 days. Nick Cannon not required.

I can offer you the marching band, and they will do so willingly since I'm the drum major. We know about 10 songs.
