Seems like Akuma/Doom would be the time to spam specials, given that Galactus likes to punish them so hard. Save as much health for Galactus himself and just whittle him down (Phoenix would likely be an awesome character for this)

Except I can totally see Galactus killing Phoenix with just one pimpslap. It seems more like the most durable characters would be best. Well that, or if you're good enough grab your favorite team and spam beam style attacks until the cows come home.

Shuma-Gorath is a must pick if he isn't too slow like in MSH. <3

I want to see Jill gameplay so bad. I love her in MvC2. She's definitely totally different now, but still seems like she could be cool. She's also apparently the fastest character in the game.

I still feel Mr. naughty tentacles is nothing more than a gimmick/lol character, like Amingo or Son-son from the 2nd game. So expect coolness at using him, but sadness at how much he'll suck against high tier characters.

Him being ranked 50 doesn't mean anything in a game where only the top 10 characters are truely viable with only a few scattered characters after that being used as assist-only characters. He's just as bad as number 16.

Using MvC2 as a means of determining what characters used to be bad and what characters good isn't exactly the most accurate way to go about it. Aside from that, this game was built from the ground up, so Shuma could very well be top tier for all we know. We can't use previous character apperances to judge how they'd fair against others in newer titles.

I thought it was well known by now that there weren't anymore characters. The leaked list got everyone right, and it was confirmed that there'd be 36 before Hsien-ko and Sentinel were officially revealed by 2 different game review sites that had the final copy of the game. Capcom will milk this game for DLC. Whatever characters not yet announced (aside from Galactus, who isn't playable) are DLC.
