Well obviously Mu Lung is an asian themed area but what culture is Mu Lung exactly? To me, it's like a chinese themed area with Koreanish named NPCs and now I'm seriously confused after hearing the MLPQ bgm which sounds more chineseish.

Mu Lung is actually really strongly Korean themed. Just that they had similar building style as China, they are still not to be confused with each other. In some versions, Mu Lung is called "The Herb Sanctury".

Mu Lung, as far as I know, is Korean.

I'm Chinese; I know quite a bit about my country and Mu Lung resembles nothing I know. Probably Korean.

Pandas are China's most treasured national animal. Also seeing how the movie Kung Fu Panda was what I believe to be Chinese inspired and has the character Tae Roon as the villain very similar to the quests here in MS, I'd like to think that Nexon intended Mu Lung to have a Chinese cultural theme to it.

Just from googling Ancient China and Ancient Korea, I saw many similarities in architecture. Not to mention, they are geographically right next to each other. So each would share similar animals and landscapes.
My guess is that it is based off of Korea because KMS made Mu Lung. What purpose would they have for making a China based area?

Yea I know, it's kinda strange how the npc names along with some aspects of the background is so koreanish whereas the buildings and the NPC resemble china. Now I'm utterly bamboozled :f6:....

It's more China themed if you ask me... the only thing I can see that it's Korean is the NPC names...

I was just thinking about this earlier today, lol.
Maybe the NPC names were transliterated from Chinese to Korean to English? or KMS was lazy and gave them Korean names.
Fact is unless I'm seriously missing something, there is no Chinese character whose sound resembles 'lung'.
