FrozNlite Wrote:Shoutout to Will and Salugod as UW-Madison applicants. Best of luck, you two. Thanks! ![]() FrozNlite Wrote:Beyond that, best of luck, obviously, to everyone else and everywhere else they applied. To expand upon what Will said in his first post, it was my dream to go to the Ivy League for ~5 years or so before my Senior year, and not only was I rejected from the three schools within it that I applied to (Cornell ED, Columbia, Princeton), but I was also rejected across the board elsewhere (George Washington University in D.C., Emory in Atlanta, and waitlisted at Northwestern). Then UW-Madison came rolling around, and fast forward 1.5 years to today, and I couldn't have been happier. Like one of my favorite high school teachers always told me when I cried about a rejection, "The college that accepts you and that you ultimately end up deciding to attend will be the one you were meant to go to." @ Bolded: You never told me that you got rejected from GWU! -Is a current GWU applicant- ![]() Brb editing my original post to include that quote.

That quote is so true. The only reason I'm at my current university is because I volunteered to do a History Bowl (history trivia competition for high school students) and represent my school. I ended up getting a $10k scholarship to go here, so I applied. It ended up turning into almost a full ride to go here and I couldn't be happier.

Ooh, best of luck to you. I know that it is quite harder to get in through Regular Decision, but hopefully the results are good!

This list of colleges I applied to is a big one. Proceed with caution. You have been warned

Just popping in to say GOOD LUCK to all of you. I have no doubt you will all do quite well no matter where you end up. Kudos to you all for wanting to further your education. It's so important in this day and age to move beyond high school.

Its quite scary if you were in our shoes. :\

Waiting for University of Hawaii to reject me so I can cry and realize that there is no future in pursuing language.

There are only certain things in life you can control. As long as you've done everything to the best of your ability, hold your head high and be proud of who you are and what you've accomplished. While all of you are preparing to head off to your first year of college, there is one particular Southperrian who I will congratulate in May for accomplishing amazing feats during his 4 years of college. (I'm not his mother but I sure am as proud of him as I would be of my own children) I can't wait to do the same for some of you in 4 more years. ![]() Again, best of luck to you ALL!! |
