Maple crashes upon entering PIC

Maple blackscreens and crashes after entering my PIC, and it gives me the message "Could not connect to the login server. Please check your connection and try again." This only happens when I try to log on my main, which I logged out of at leafre or one of the houses in leafre. I used the X button to close maple if that's relevant.

I've tried:
Logging in from website and from the .exe
Logging in from two comps (one running windows 7 and the other windows XP)
Lowering graphics on an alt before logging in

Hmm, is your main listed as your main on the Nexon site? Try changing it if so and then relogin.

Is it that one specific character? You say it only happens on your main. Try it with another character.

Have you restarted your computer?

An off-the-wall idea that has worked for me before is reestablishing your internet connection by restarting the modem itself. Apparently my computer was still sending a "logged in" signal to the maple server so it wouldn't allow me to log into my hero, as the server thought she was already online.

Did you by chance have a full Equip inventory when turning in the 5th Red Envelope?
If so that character's inventory is glitched. No known workaround at this time, gotta wait for Nexon to fix it.

I recently changed my main char on the site just for the heck of it, so it won't let me change it again for a week. It says my main is what it used to be everywhere except the "change main char" page.

It works fine with all the other characters I've tried so far. I'll try those ideas when I get home.

I did have a glitched inventory because of that, though I did make room after I realized what happened and I could pick up equips just fine.

It's a glitch I've noticed as well:

Just restart MapleStory and usually it clears up on the 2nd or 3rd attempt.

Darn, nothing's worked. Guess I'm gonna miss the 2x events on my main =/.

How did restarting the modem turn out for you?

I also have this problem. Sometimes it takes 3~5 tries until I can finally log in.

It didn't work, which sucks. I've sent a ticket and there seems to be a large complaint thread on the nexon forums about the red envelope thing, which does sound a lot like the problem I have. At least I have my other chars to play on.
