There absolutely are partners. One of the images from E3 showed Mario teamed up with a chain chomp.

Paper Mario was amazing. Super Paper Mario, not so much, but Paper Mario 64 and Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door? Insta-classic.

The 3D in this game looks like it's going to be pretty cool, like that sequence with the Bomb-ombs parachuting down.

The video I posted was a newer video and it doesn't show any partners at all. I'm just concerned because when they were advertising Paper Mario 1/2, they showed the partners in the trailers and whatnot.
And the chain chomp had no visible difference that made it the "unique" partner character.

Looks sweet back to the good ol'2d people in a 3d world. None of that 2d side-scroller bs. SPM was good but not GREAT like the first too.

Can't wait to see the buddies. :3

I've been playing through all the Paper Marios again just for this... SO GOOD.

Paper Mario 2 with minimum HP/FP is really, really annoying.
