Just focus on getting a permit first, then a license. Driving was not an option for me, I guess. I had to. My father wanted me to start driving because he was determined to get me to college and for me to eventually have a successful life, so I'm grateful that I learned how to drive and stuff at the right age range. Buy yourself a cheap and affordable car whenever you save up after working too.

You're 17, you don't have to work anyways. I started working when I was 18, because I needed the money to DRIVE to places. I don't think your parents are that different from mine, they'll lighten up a bit when you hit college years.

You make it sound like your situation is terrible to others. I would call that a godsend if I had the freedom to stay in my room all day and play vidya gaems and stuff. Of course, I used to be more like that in the past, I sacrificed KHOITIEM just to go out and socialize nowadays, but that's just me.
