Maple and Vista/W7 64bit HP
#1
This is technically related to maple but more or less about Vista/W7 but is also targeted towards people who do a lot of bossing. You all saw my last thread about my problems, well this time I was looking for people who run on Vista/W7 64bit Home Premium to post and explain if you don't experience any problems while bossing as in don't have to change graphics whatsoever or have to do any weird things to predent DC'ing. I was talking to a couple friends who run Vista 64bit HP and W7 64bit HP and both say since BB patch they don't have to do anything anymore while bossing and never DC anymore, so if there is anyone else that runs on either one of these could post some feedback I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Nope. Now we don't have to change any graphics (not sure for all bosses). This is because Nexon added Direct x9 to the client, so now it doesn't matter what OS you have. The Win7/Vista disconnecting issue doesn't happen as often (if at all).

I can't speak for everyone but this is just what I've noticed.

I run Win7 HP and since BB the only issues i had was during the time when there was a sound issue. I was about to get around that by opening the system options menu, that cleared the excess memory maple was using. Since the patch that fixed that, i have been able to boss without any issues at all. I still have the strange skill and pot lag during the first half of the 2nd prehead for HT. That is not a new issue and i had that same issue even when i played on XP.

So for me personally, i have had no problems with Win7 HP since BB. I also have a Vista 64 computer and it does seem to have a bit more lag than the win7 machine, but that is probobly just because its older/less specs. I think the sound thing might still be an issue for some people, but i am just guessing at that.

Disclaimer : i don't do as many boss runs as i once did, so my experience since BB is limited, but i have been to all the major bosses at least once and have not DCed even one time since BB (other than during the sound issue).

No issues using Windows 7 Pro 64bit. Should apply here since theres not much difference between pro and HP.

I've personally never had any issues with either OS, regardless of patch, in my 6 years of playing. Granted, my machine has always had more than 3-4x the required specs for Maple.

I run Win7Ult 64, it's a legit copy I got from Microsoft while I still worked for them.

Windows 7 Ultimate on HP V6305NR no issues...

Windows Server 2008 R2 on customized HP DX2450 with no issues...

Again.. it's the audio card... you have to disable it before starting Maple. Does not matter what OEM or Custom Build PC it is, hardware you use, OS version, etc. You HAVE to disable the audio card and restart MapleStory.

This makes sense to me. I never use sound in maple, and usually run headphones through itunes, or just listen to my iPhone in general.
