[SIZE="3"]As a way to show our appreciation for our new content testers, we would like to have a contest to create a shiny new badge/label for them like this one.[/SIZE]



Please be sure to read and follow all of the rules set forth. I would hate to see entries disqualified again because of failure to follow the rules.

[SIZE="3"][COLOR="navy"]Rules are as follows:

• Maximum file size of 6k.
  
• Dimensions should be no larger than 128 wide X 30, 60 or 90 high.
  
• File format shall be either PNG or GIF.
  
• It "can" be animated if you so choose, but doesn't have to be.
  
• Must be transparent if background is solid.
  
• The badge/label MUST read "Content Tester" ONLY.
  
• All submissions become property of southperry.net whether "winning" or not.
  
• All submissions must be PM'ed to TaliaNCo ONLY.
  
• ANYONE is allowed to participate.
  
• Entries must be submitted no later than Saturday February 5th, 2010 @ 9:00 PM PST! (no late entries will be accepted for any reason) [countdown]2011-02-05 23:00[/countdown]
  
• Any and all questions related to this contest shall be asked within this thread.
  
• Anyone not following these rules will be automatically disqualified.

Minor ammendment to:

The badge/label MUST read "Content Tester" ONLY.

We'll also accept variations that include the prefix "Official", "SP", "SouthPerry" or a logical combination of the former and one of the latter two.

Anyone not following these rules will be automatically disqualified.

Is there any free program I can use to make backgrounds transparent? I have submitted my entries with a completely white background but I don't know if that's enough.

EDIT: Ok, got me an editting software capable of making transparency. Resubmitting.

The Gimp is free, Paint.net is free.

Ill take a crack at this probably with a small animated gif or something.

Can you clarify if we are allowed to submit multiple entries? It doesn't seem to say anything about that in the rules.

Multiple (distinct) submissions are always allowed unless explicitly forbidden.

I fail to see why you would think that. Current testers were chosen based only on the effort they put into writing an essay, not due to any special qualifications. Giving someone testing access based on their talents as an artist is no different than doing it based on their talents as a writer.

Well, at the very least, the essay was about why they'd be a good content tester. I'm not sure if the results were what Eos was aiming for, but it seems like his intent was to weed out people who wouldn't actually be very good at testing. Adding someone based on them winning a random art contest would go against that.
