Lame caps pun aside, is PDR a straight subtraction or is it a multiplication?
Like say a mob has 50% PDR, and I have max Combat Mastery, is it:
1 - (0.5 x (1-0.4)) = 0.7, 70% damage, 30% net PDR
or is it
1 - (0.5 - 0.4) = 0.9, 90% damage, 10% net PDR?

It's the first one according to a few old ass threads that I can't remember how to find. If you want to take this with a grain of salt then by all means.
There's still a couple of people who believe its the second one, but it should be easily deniable (as in, verify that it isn't) on a hero due to the big difference between 10% and 30% pdr.
Really would like to know if this is wrong though. Because all of my calculations have been based off of method 1.

Option 3:
30% ignore pdr = 100% pdr 70% of the time, 0% pdr 30% of the time. So in above example, 10% or 0% PDR both possible (range 9716 ~ 12701).
Mathematically equivalent to option 1, just gives you a wider damage range.
This is what I suspected from work on Tespia (with a Hero) but didn't get to confirm cause the range was too large (plus combo orbs messed with data collection)

I redid some tests as well and didn't happen to get the high maximum I got, so I'm guessing it's the first option also.

It's the first hypothesis, I can guarantee it. Another way to express it will be
(1 - PDrate) + (PDrate * (ignore defense total)), where ignore defense is additive. If your weapon has 15% ignore and you're a hero with max combat mastery, it'll be 55% defense ignore.

would it stacks together with 'Marksmanship' ?
Eg. 15% Ignore Def (from weapon) + 20% Defense Ignored (from marksmanship) = 35% ?
