Well, I also vote for NPCing it too, but personally and in all seriousness, I would just keep it.
If it turns out to be more trouble than its worth I'd drop it in FM1.

@ claw: droping it solves nothing, it still exist, if you decide to drop it just so someone else can benefit from hacked gear then there is no good in it. npcing it though solves the problem. it would take a very special person to do it though, morals and fair game etics are a thing few maplers have.

You do realize that it is almost impossible that any character ever made hasn't been affected (whether directly or indirectly) from hackers, right?

I get what you mean with him NPCing this since it is obvious, but I'm sure some of my gear has been scrolled with scrolls that hackers found or I sold an item to a hacker and now I have hacked mesos, etc.

not the same, who knows where a scroll came from or if a 22 dex sauna was scrolled by a legit or a hacker. however when you are given an item that you know was made with hacks its diferent, you here have the choice of saying "bah maple is just a a game and i dont mind cheating" or "sure its a a game but i rather play by the rules". there is no punishment for breaking the rules in a game, no real one anyways, people get banned for a few days in the best of cases and then you return to whatever you had before. community rules cant be enforced because there is no police and no way for the community to enforce the "rules". you only have your morals and etics to guide you, and obv my morals and yours dont have to be the same, and that doesnt make yours or mine wrong.

i just contribute with what i think and feel is right, i cant and wont force anyone to do this. all i can really do is forbid myself from ever getting or using this kind of items and i am proud of my choice.

It's all downhill from here.
