4th Job BattleMage SP Suggestions

Simple suggestions for any 4th job BattleMages that are lost x] ~ this isn't level by level guide. Feel free to bash it. It's here to help all battlemages x] . ~ These are from my experiences.
From Lvl 120 :

1 Adv Dark Aura, 1 Dark Genesis, 1 Finishing Blow, 1 Twister Spin, 1 Party Shield

One on most skills, for fun of course !!Then you can either max advance dark aura or finishing blow depending on your availability on skill books.

Reason is obvious, those are your main training/attacking skills. After maxing those two skills, you have some options.

1. If you stingy about pots and scared of dying, max Energizer first, it's only 10 lvls. It gives awesome defence and extra HP.

2. In my opinion, Stance would help a lot if you plan to train at dark cornians ( the hidden map at the bottom right of red turtles ) You dont need to max it to be useful, some points in Stance is good.

In the end you want to have max energizer and some points in Stance. From here, I would say it depends on your playing style. However, I DO NOT RECOMMEND putting any points in advance yellow aura. Why? Because it d/cs your party members, full stop. ( as of ver 0.94 )

So skills remaining to max are Stance, Dark Genesis, Twister Spin and Maple Warrior, Party Shield, Hero's Will.

From my experience, I would max/high level Stance and max Twister Spin after. Since, I go bossing every now and then, stance helps a lot. Twister Spin is just awesome =p for survival, legit god mode every 20 seconds x] ~ damage isn't bad either ( combined with tele mastery ). There are disadvantages thou, damage reflect killed me at chaos ht, sooo it's not really 100% god mode Sad .

Also, I have been experimenting training with Twister Spin, and for me it's pretty fast. Start from the top, and tele your way down, dark shock ( killing left overs ), kill some mobs, buff up, go up and u're ready to twister spin ur way down again. ( this is at obv 4 ) + dark gene every now and then x] .

Also, it's not very easy to get the mastery books on twister spin, so if you cant get it dont save up, use it elsewhere and keeeeep on leveling x].

Maple Warrior isn't really a priority for me. If you party train or boss, most people have MW. A word on dark genesis, for me i left it at lvl 5 ( 1 OHKO most monsters ) same with dark shock, so the extra damage doesn't really matter to me.

1 on hero's will if you a major bosser, or if you rich and can afford wheels, use that 1 SP else where.

The rest of the skills is up to you how you wanna allocate. Party Shield is helpful for random reasons, but it should not be one of the first skill to max.

Honestly, I dont know how useful max Advance Yellow Aura would be if they do decide to fix it up and since they screwed up Body Boost, I wouldn't be able to reset that back to 0, so no yellow auras for you warriors.

Last of all, if you really read all that, thanks for reading x] ~ Once again, everyone is different, playing style etc. These are merely my opinion and the way I play. Post you experience Tongue ( yea you high lvl battlemages ) x]

Well I just hit 160 on my Battle mage. I saw this and thoguht I would give my opinion. Took a while for verifaction for southperry. Anyways
I recently reset my build noticing how dark genesis does 1hit ko every 100% after a certain level *Tested it out to see knowing an sp reset was coming*

Skill build after sp reset:

lvl 120= 1 dark gene, 1 finishing, 1 adv dark aura.
then I put 1 point in twister and party shield, then maxed out energize then adv dark aura,
then I maxed out stance (really helpful for training and bosses)
I am a good bosser so I put party shield to level 10 after stance. Party shield is like a mini version of smoke screen but still really helpful.
I put 11 in mw(regret it but I do solo 70% of the time so it is an extra boost)
then i put 19 points into twister (no level 30 books) Twister is just an amazing skill. It would've saved my ass during pink bean if it was a highly level. As mages are the best at clearing the mini bean mobs since they auto weapon cancel when they spawn. -First BaM to be on successful pb run yay!- But yeah you can get sealed in twister and you can be damaged by damage reflect, and zombify will take effect. however, reverse keys will not take effect, seduce, and mainly any other skills. if you get sealed in twister no big deal. If you have a status condition prior going into twister it will stay in effect.
Then i put 1 more point into dark genesis.
Side note: I dislike finishing blow. Useless skill pass level 1 if you have good potential gear in my opinion. I train just as fast w/ level 1 finshing blow than with someone with level 30 finishing blow. It is a waste of a skill point. please remember Battle Mages aren't for their IMPRESSIVE DAMAGE. Battle mages are the most logical and supportive in this game. With skills like adv dark aura, and party shield and twister battle mages are used to be defensive and support their party. They have great mobbing skills and therefore are unique. damage isn't everything and finishing blow is just a waste as you can twister and tele much easier and faster in bosses=p.

Note about yellow aura: It dcs party members if shifter activates since it grants avoid rate. It dcs you if you get dispelled+ shifter activating by a damaging dispel move like zak/czak. If ht dispels you w/ adv yellow aura on you won't get dced as it is a non-immunity dispel. Night=p. had to comment!

sounds interesting with lvl 1 finishing blow, however im not highly potentialled Sad.

and yea... for anyone that think twister is crap... it's awesome =p

didn't really understand what you said about gettin seduced, but im sure you can get seduced in twister spin.... tested on lyka ..

Yeah it does seduce in twister=p. I guess the 20% avoid that bllue aura had worked more often than it should.

Well yeah i am saving lvl 1 finsihing blow for later or almost last (before yellow). it isn't like the boss will die much faster. I failed twister spin 30s already.. Getting harder and harder to find them sadly. Oh well=p. Twister is great for duoing when training, just sucks when you are in that form you cant use teleporters in ToT. Oh well=p. I am working ondark genesis right now. Dark shock boost seems nice=D. Party shield 20= gpq which is glitched I heard, oh well...

you used blue aura in pb? ~ i would have thought that d/cs or kills you with 1/1 ?

any tips for pb? since they plannin to do a run soon x] ~

seems like it's gonna be just me and you discussing BaM ~~~~

twister is good for duo??? which map?... i prefer just soloing with twister ( @ obv 4 )

ad vblue aura passive effect is 20% abnormal status immunity. works w/o it being activated. ya 1/1 kills=p

I am curious about this idea of leaving Finishing Blow at 1. I may follow that since at level 1 it is already at 77.7% of the strength it is at level 30, kinda similar to Big Bang in that respect. Being able to max other stuff that'd gain larger boosts off the SP would be more interesting to me.

How useful is the passive 20% fixed avoid rate off AYA when combined with Stance whilst training? I have heard that AYA doesn't always D/C party members, how do you mean by "shifter", like the 20% passive avoid AYA gets?

The 20% passive avoid rate isn't all that great by itself. However, when you use body boost with it, it seems to be kinda good. Other than the rate sorta working, I prefer to just use ADA, the faster I kill + greater damage I deal works better for me than the speed + avoid boost. Unless of course you still kill them in the same amount of hits with either ADA/AYA which is hard to do unless you really have decent gears at high lvls.
