I'd focus on getting Enrage first, then Caress. Early game AP doesn't amount to much. Again, I don't really play Sion, so.

#1 is from a Mana Manipulator. I don't feel like doing #2. Lazy.
I keep ending up on these terrible losing streaks where I either solo queue and get super feeders on my team, or someone on my friends list invites me to a 4/5 man premade and 2 or 3 of those people are completely and absolutely horrible. I need to play with you SP guys more often. As for Kayle..she's definitely not a tank. I'd say she's 60% Hybrid carry and 40% support. Before Kayle was remade a few months ago, the only viable way to build her was as a tank, so that's probably why that tag is still there.

Anyone find this LoL reference extremely suggestive (yet funny at the same time)?

modular Wrote:sure, i feel like 300 move speed just isnt enough at game start. i take tele instead of ghost for the occasional free kill or tower defense. boots replace ghost at the beginning of the game for getaways and harassment. i definitely have issues mid and sometimes late game with escaping ganks once everyone else has boots too, but imo the difference in utility is made up for by my awareness of my map position and proper use of tele to gank, help prevent ganks, and scare off tower pushes. additionally, like duelman said, dorans encourages autoattacking, and my 3 hp pots often last a LOT longer than the other persons doran item + 1 hp pot because i can harass them off the creeps if they arent careful, and just farm and dodge their harassment if they are. Do you play with flash? Ashe without flash or ghost = Fail ![]() Also, starting with boots is stupid, sorry but starting with dorans blade is GREAT, it improves your ability to survive, how long you can lane for and your gold farm. On carries such at MF and ashe getting 2-3 Doran's items is good, it's close to no gold to you since you should be last-hitting and farming like crazy, normally you should have enough for a BF sword when you return the first time from pure minion farming, champion ganks and kills should net you extra items, but sorry starting with boots is fail, it's been like that since dota. Garen was nerfed into oblivion and katarinas ulti is like nunu's CC kills her potential. Also kayle.. Well a greatly farmed kayle CAN carry but there are way better carries. Playing kayle as pure AP and thinking you're there to support is fail, her damage-output is what it's at, doesnt mean you shouldnt be healing ofc f3 Kevin645 Wrote:AP Sion is somewhat wasted because you lose potential in your ultimate because you focus on shield rather than points in enrage. AP sion beats AD sion in the first 35 minutes of the game, after that AD sion is better. So if you try to end it quick, sion rocks. This was a... memorable match to say the least, you see, the enemy wasn't THAT bad, but they lost a pathetic loss.
When we started, Miss Fortune went jungling and someone from our team ksed her buff, so she decided to quit us, but not just leave, she started using the chat to tell the other team where we were going "2 bot, 3 mid", " 4 bot", seriously, it was pomegranate "one in the bushes, next to Ryze".... that last one was me about to channel crowstorm... Not happy enough with that, she started feeding them... the scores talk for themselves:
Spoiler
End of the story, we won 4v5 with a spy/feed for them.

I had a Soulstealer earlier too, and even got it to 20 stacks, but died twice in a row (deaths like 6-7) and stacks were down to 10 so I bought a deathcap which gave me more....

Part Two: Choices
Select two of the following questions and answer them to the best of your ability, explaining why you do what you do. If you answer more than two, only the first two will be looked at. Due to the vagaries involved, and that words do not do certain situations any justice, you'll get a point for a response that's decent and not too far-fetched. However, I am also looking for certain key insights; each of them will grant you an extra point. Open submission of answers is encouraged to spark discussion. Scoring will be determined by the deadline of Sunday 11 pm pst, and since opinions will be involved this time, I am willing to be swayed by convincing arguments should I err in judgment. All situations are assumed to take place in Summoner's Rift. 1.) After a brief skirmish mid-game resulting in one champion on each team dead, you recall back to the purple fountain as Akali. Taking time to look at the minimap, you notice that in top lane purple team's Rammus and Pantheon are being a menace to blue team's Kog'Maw, while purple team's Ashe in middle lane is having trouble holding back blue team's Vladimir's onslaught. Both Ashe and Vladimir have about 60% health left, and both middle lane outer turrets are still up. Blue team's Tryndamere is alone in bottom lane. Both teams seem relatively even at this point. What should you do? 2.) Due to hasty arrangements, your team (blue) ends up being Ashe, Dr. Mundo, Morgana, Cho'Gath, and Xin Zhao, where Xin Zhao insists on jungling. The enemy team consists of Nasus, Ashe, Ryze, Jax, and Kennen, none of whom seemed to be inclined to be junglers. While it is clear that there needs to be two solo lane champions, no one quite knows who will fit those two roles. Which two champions should solo, and which lanes should they go to? 3.) Both teams have decided to take two solo laners, 1 duo lane, and 1 jungler setup. You are blue team's Mordekaiser taking top solo lane vs. Irelia. 7 minutes go by, and there has been no interaction in top lane from any other teammates on either side. The trading of attacks result in an injured Irelia being pushed back to her turret while you are left severely hurting, so you decide to recall for the first time. Taking a look at the shop's various wares, you realize that you have amassed approximately 1126 gold. What should you buy? (Even though the game largely shows you whole numbers, they're all actually decimal values.) I have one more scenario in mind, but I'll take time tomorrow to write up the question... 4.) As blue team's Malphite, you and Anivia are in bottom lane causing lots of havoc on purple team's Tristana and Garen. In the exchange of harasses, everyone but you is left with approximately 50% HP and more or less the same amount of MP, and you managed to push up to their tower and keep it pushed. Both you and Anivia are level 9 while Tristana and Garen are level 8. While Anivia's amazing attack range lets her take pot shots at the tower, you are left twiddling your thumbs for something better to do, when suddenly you notice that middle lane's purple champion is missing. What should you do?
Well I ended up playing two games a short while ago. The first one, oh god was it terrible. I didn't suspect that we had 3 new players, and they had chosen Annie, Master Yi, and Warwick. All reasonable choices for damage dealing and carrying, and all played by total newbies, not that I knew that at the time. That left me and one other person, and since we had some decent damage dealers, I figured I'd go Cho'Gath to get some more tanking experience in. The other person with some experience picked Amummu. Which would have been fine had our team not fed the opposing team like a sunday buffet. I can't say I was any better because I kept trying to keep the carries alive . . . only to discover to my horror just how terrible they were at it. No boots, no good or even decent items, and no kills. Amummu and I, the two tanks, managed a total of 4 kills against Ashe, Dr Mundo, Rammus, Mordekaiser, and Poppy. <.< By the time I thought about stacking damage to even somewhat get a few more kills in to try and get back into things, it was far far too late. We ended up at somewhere close to or at 50 deaths by the end. It was simply awful in all respects. I'll note I accounted for a solid 9 or 10 or those deaths btw, so I wasn't exactly helping, but yeah . . . it was a very very bad match and there wasn't much to be done about it.
The second game, I ended up getting Master Yi, along with Mordekaiser, Pantheon, Hermdinger, and Udyr. Now I had a pretty bad start with Yi. Not terrible, but no kills for quite a while and around 2-3 deaths. The other team had a Master Yi, Mordekaiser, Hermdinger, Nunu and Gangplank. The Pantheon on our side fed them Yi, Mordekaiser, and Gangplank quite well. He had around 19 deaths by the end of the match, 1 kill, and couple of assists. Now with just that, we were struggling, but hanging on. Then around the midpoint of the game, our Mordekaiser left/dced. But it wasn't all lost at that point. I was getting in some solid kills, and finally building my DPS items. I even ganked the opposing Yi who was a Lifesteal build with some help, but the problem with Pantheon was that no matter what was going on, he always went off and did his own thing. We'd be defending the base, he'd be off farming creeps or hitting towers. Now that's not a terrible thing . . . except he never listened to anyone. At one point, we were still holding on, albeit barely, and he was the only one up, and he was off in the top lane farming while Master Yi and Hermdinger killed our middle turret and inhibitor. After that, it was just game over. I kept on defending, no matter how many times I died, and I killed Yi, I killed Nunu, I killed as many people as I could, but Master Yi is fragile, and I couldn't do it alone. Not that I was alone, the Hermdiner was competent, and the Udyr was really good, so even at 5 vs 3, we were holding them off for quite a while. It's especially funny when Mordekaiser starts running away from both Udyr and Master Yi because he knows his time is at an end. Or the other Master Yi running from me because he knew if I crited even a few times, he was dead, lifesteal or not. It was a happy loss, I played well, carried as best as I could, and overall I think it was one of my better games. With one more person, or even just having Panth listen to us, we would have won it I think. Or at least made it super close.

So I was wide awake after my two losses, and decided I'd keep at it a few more times hoping I'd win once at some point. First game after the previous two, I did pretty well. Ended up at 8/3/1 or 8/5/1 or somewhere around there. Had a good team who knew what they were doing, and while the other team was decent, we were able to push/single kill them enough times to take the game. Second game, there's already a Yi, a MF, a Panth, and a Heimdinger. So I decide to work on my Cho'gath game some more and be a tank. Not sure if Panth was going tank as well, but that's what I went. Their side had almost all Physical so I had a pretty easy time with things. I did a minor screwup at start and bought what I would have if I was playing Yi, but in the end it was hardly a problem at all. I also forgot to upgrade my boots, so I ran around with clean boots the entire game. Again, didn't really need anything more than that because I omnomomed quite a few to death, and assisted Yi, MF, and Panth quite a few times as well. My score wasn't crazy, but I hardly died, and when I did, it was to keep the carries alive. The game lasted a while due to some back and forthing on the base doorstep, but eventually we prevailed. Anyway, the MF and Yi had a lot of fun with the three of us, and we decided to play another game together. Third game, we each kept the same, and got a Sion and a Fiddlesticks. We were going against as Gangplank, Panth, Tristana, Corki, and Akali. I died once early game pushing too hard, and once later on saving Fiddlesticks, but I got in three kills, two of which were omnomnoms. Of course it would have been more, but we pretty well steamrolled this team. The Yi and MF did okay, nothing spectacular, but competency is a blessing in any normal game of LoL so even if they made a few mistakes, they never fed the other team or anything. And our Sion kicked ass. He ganked quite a few times, and surprised tower dove a couple of times as well. Eventually Yi, MF, and Sion pushed top tower, and I pushed bottom, and Fiddle came and joined me, but bye the time I reached the base turret, the other team had decided to surrender. So after my earlier losses, these wins were a nice surprise. Though I really didn't mind that 2nd loss earlier since it was just one of those number games that had us lose and not due to any lack of skill or trying on my part. I'm hoping to get a ranged character next. I'm not a big fan of AP Carries, but I do need to branch out of DPS since I already have Yi. Guess I'll wait a see a while yet if I can at all help it since I still feel I can do better as both Cho and as Yi.
Kaj, for #1 and #2 can I assume that the enemy team is generally stupid and also doesn't use wards?
For #3...it fully depends on what Morde's first item is, you know. >_>

I think ghost blade is hilariously fun for Yi. Now that I'm a higher level I don't think I'd get it (I've also mentioned I can't stand playing Yi anymore) but getting obscene runspeed is a good time.

Cho mid, Mundo solo top, ashe and morg duo bottom lane. Cho should be mid since he is nearly un-gankable as a mid, and his knockup/silence helps with xin's ganking mid alot more. If you send ashe mid then she will be cc'ed out of existance by the other team. Mundo is the other viable solo for top because his regeneration makes for never having to leave lane until after laning is done, and he can last hit with cleaver if he gets kited alot. |
