MapleStory Big Problem: Black Screen

Hello!

I'm having a problem with MapleStory.
After a while (maybe 30-60 minutes), when I'm playing and more than 3 or 4 players are on the same map, my Screen blacks out.
It won't come back unless I press ALT+TAB.
This is pretty annoying because once it happens the first time, it continues happening over and over again every like 10-30 seconds.
To fix it I have to close Maple and open it again.
Imagine me trying to train with this problem.

This happens everywhere! When I'm on Free Market or training or just walking in town.
I don't know why is happening.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, ALL types of compatibility modes, installed like 20 different video drivers (oldest one to the newest) but no success.
I submitted a report to Nexon but they just copy and paste some stupid answer (yes I know, Nexon Support sucks)...

My OS is Windows 7 (32 bit).
I have a Dell Inspiron 1545 (Laptop).
It's a fast computer so this shouldn't not be happening.
I have a Desktop computer with Windows XP and Maple works perfectly! And that computer is a lot slower than my laptop.

Please, help me guys.
I'm desperate. This problem is really annoying.

And I did. I only told him about it so that he doesn't do it again.

Also, I forgot to say that when I start Maple, if I leave that the opening video plays, the Login Screen turns black. You know, I mean that instead of the usual MapleStory background at the log in screen, the background is black and when I move the mouse, it closes.

To log in correctly I have to click twice when the Nexon logo shows off to skip the Opening Video. Otherwise, I get the Black background at the log in screen that doesn't allow me to log in.

I tried in windowed mode too and when my screen goes black, this message is showing in my notification bar:

"The display driver Intel Graphics Accelerator Driver for Windows XP® stopped responding and has successfully recovered."

Apparently, its a driver issue but I have the latest video driver!
What can I do?

Unfortunately minus trying to adjust the driver tools settings, there's not much you can do at this point. You could look into your Power settings to see if you are having the screen shutdown after so long, or you could check the BIOS and try to allocate more RAM to your graphics chip.

However, there may be an issue with the Intel Series 4 Mobility Graphics itself. Most of these do not support the majority of what is required by MapleStory to run correctly, mostly due to the level of supported DirectX extensions. If this is in fact the case, you might not be able to use your laptop for MapleStory.

Hey man, i have the EXACT same problems. After awhile my screen goes black and i have to minimize (ALT+TAB) and reopen to get it back to normal, but it continues happening and i have to restart maple. I have the same issue with the opening screen, if i let it play through and watch the video, the background is black, and it dc's me. I hope someone can help with this.

You can also try, as Jamie said, the power settings. Does the whole screen go black or just the maplestory window itself?

When you're in windowed mode, is it just the windowed maplestory and you can still see taskbar/everything else?

It might be an issue of overheating, but typically that leads to an entire system shutdown, not just a black screen... How do you ventilate your computer while running Maplestory?

Long time reader, first time poster here at southperry.

This issue is exactly the problem i am having. I can say to whomever it was saying that processor strain could be a problem, is incorrect. I am running a core i5 processor with 8GB of RAM...i can run most NEW games on full graphics.

I get everything the same as the TS. Once in a while i get the 'recovered graphics drivers' balloon, and have also tried close to 20+ different video drivers.

I have had problems in the past with games that use Direct Draw and/or 8bit scaling, but neither of these are the case with maplestory.

I do not seem to get it all the time, but it happens everytime i am in a party with people doing a PQ or ANY boss run. Forcing me to alt+tab and re-open the game. Then happening every minute or so after the first time until i restart maplestory.

I have sent multiple tickets in to Nexon only to receive automated responses that my graphics drivers may be out of date or that i should upgrade my hardware....which is boarderline top of the line as it stands.

Extremely unhappy about this, as the only thing i enjoy doing is PQ's and Boss...

I will post any updates that i come by, and i would ask that others do the same. Sorry if i had bumped this topic, but it is not that old so i figured it could be done.
