Is it me, or does no one play as Tristana at all? I have never seen anyone use her, and as far as I have played, she doesn't suck at all.

She is a very solid carry, but there are better carries so idk about the lower ELOs but in high ELOs she's not rare but not common either.
I personally prefer MF or ashe as my team's carry, or ezreal if a certain person i know plays him.

I haven't seen Tristana a lot as well. She's an okay carry, but she's also a very simple "right click to win" champion and is outshined by other carries such as Miss Fortune and Ashe, which I suspect would be the main reasons why Tristana isn't seen very much.

Reasons to choose Tristana:
++Longest consistent auto-attack range when fully leveled, at 703. A lot about the late game, not so much early game.
--Knockback CC ult. I can't think of many great places to use it as a knockback other than to gtfo away from assassins. But you're probably getting shut down anyways if this happens to you a lot. Either Janna or Alistar can fulfill this role though, and Janna is way better at doing it.
--Escape mechanism Rocket Jump. Unless you're up against the likes of crazy gankers, you shouldn't be needing this a lot if you're playing correctly.
-- -50% healing ability. Y'know, in case Mundo or some other heal-crazy bastard shows up in ranked fights... unfortunately the range is pretty darn short. It's easily "replaced" by a 1300 gold item called Executioner's Calling, or even better, Summoner Ignite.
Lower ELOs (see : mine) revolve around free champions, Master Yi, and whatever people are saying is OP at that point in time.
Well I managed to win twice. The first game, I ended up as Cho'Gath since someone else picked Yi. I did okay with Caitlyn on top. We pushed the Veigar back and their Dr. Mundo dced almost as soon as the game started so they were already down to 5 v 4. Then their Veigar dced, and they never really recovered. We kept pushing at different towers, and at the 25 minute mark, we had already made it through all the towers and were at the base. They had like a 10 second chance to surrender, but then it was over anyway. It was kind of dissapointing since I wanted to practice some more with Cho against real people, and didn't get much of a chance. Still it was nice to have a quick win, even if it wasn't as satisfying as it could have been. I ended up at 3/3/3 which wasn't terrible, but I could have used a longer game to really get a good feel for the build I was trying and whatnot. Guess I'll just have to wait til another time.

Second game, I took Yi again, apparently someone else had planned the same thing much to his charign. He ended up as Vlad and spent most of the match whining about how he was useless as Vlad and how we were feeding them so we should just surrender. Of course even more amusing was starting out solo top lane against Tristana and Alistar, it did not go too well, but I managed to hold them off long enough for Caitlyn to come up and help. Dunno why 3 people ended up bottom with no good reason. Anyway, together we pushed them back and while I died a few times, I did get a kill. We also took out two towers, and meanwhile the bottom of Cho and Warwick took out some more towers. Really Vlad was the only one struggling for a while, but even he eventually was able to take out some towers. I did pretty poorly in terms of deaths, but I did get a couple of important kills, and Yi definitely kills as a cleanup person as I got a double kill or two when some people overextended. I ended up 12/13/4, which considering how often I was focused on, wasn't nearly as bad as it could have been. I still should have done a bit better, but I'll add that the Vlad was at 3/13/0 . . . so yeah, at least I was close to making up for my deaths.

She doesn't suck, she's actually an amazing dps carry.

It's just that there are other carries that don't only have greats single-target dps, but good AoE damage as well.

This. If you take a look at one of my SSes from last night, you can tell the enemy Tristana I faced against was definately carrying his/her team.

Anyone up for a match later?
madanthony Wrote:Corki's next on my list. Hard as hell carry ftw! Or maybe Katarina. These decisions are so hard.
Lux is pretty entertaining though. I'm over my initial skepticism of her.

If you decide to pick up Kat, I can give you some tips - she's my most played champion. Lux is great too, she's probably my second favorite. Corki is a really strong carry who works great with armor penetration and armor reduction.

Trist is a great carry with amazing endgame damage output and good range. I think she's a tad underrated, tbh.
Finally got my first win of the day.

(I was being Tristana that one time due to some other guy asking kindly for Caitlyn, so I switched characters. Turned out he sucked at using her X_X)
You have better Cait scores than every Cait I've played with. Well played, sir.

I just played Master Yi for the first time in nearly 3 weeks. Never again. pineapple melee squishies. Rage. Thank god it turned into a 4v5 and I could just backdoor like a boss.
Definitely getting Corki next.
Eh well I just played another game, lasted a long time for a 4 vs 5. Partially my fault since I didn't go backdoor successfully for quite a while. Warwick vs Yi = Yi usually dies. T_T Still, I feel it was fairly valuable as it helped me realize some of the skill I'm currently lacking. We did end up winning, but had I been doing better, I expect we could have won in less than an hour. Maybe not a whole lost less, but maybe 5-15 minutes. Hard to recall exactly when I'd have been able to do it given my DPS build requires quite a bit of gold before it gets going. I suppose I could try going a more lifesteal heavy build to help counteract my squishiness, but I don't want to base things on just a few games.
Anyone on atm?
I'm starting to see a pattern here...

Whenever I play with people of my skill level, lots of fun is had.

Whenever I play with suboptimal people, I start facepalming a lot and go "what is wrong with those people", thus distracting me from doing as well.

Oh, and inb4willissayslolf3. My most craptastic moment when playing with you was I decided to do some harassment when they had large minion waves. It's the idea with Irelia to sustain some damage and maintain health levels by lifestealing (so that E becomes a stun), but I went a bit too far during laning phase in that last game.

And next thing I know...Tongue1

Mordekaiser was a MAJOR problem in this game; it was nail-biting until the very end, when we got Baron Nashor the second time around.

Frozen Heart was a necessity here. God damn Teemo, Fiddlesticks, and Kog'Maw. >_>

P.S. I'm barely maintaining my 3 game difference between a winning and a losing record. Frown

I play with her on occasion, but ive only dabbled in 1 normal game with her as i felt like an easy target with her.
I've been playin a good deal of ashe lately and am gonna continue to until I get bored with her.

Almost all of those guys had terrible builds...

especailly that kog'maw -gouges eyes out-
So I was just looking over all Rune categories...

As a tank, I'm supposed to be focusing on mostly on "Seal" (defense) and "Quintessence" (all-purpose), right?

And Rune pages are organized by tiers, correct? :f6:

 Spoiler
There's four different types of runes - marks, seals, glyphs, and quintessences. There's nine of each at level 30, except for quints, there's three quint slots. Marks are offensive, seals are defensive, glyphs are utility (I guess), and quints are everything.

Quintessence are just uber-runes, I thought.
