Serious question.
I hate having any form of light in my room when I sleep, because when I sleep, I expect to be surrounded in absolute darkness. That's just how I am. What about you folks?

I'm more prone to go to sleep with the T.V. on and stuff, but when I can and not too lazy I turn the lights off and sleep in absolute silence and darkness.

I like to sleep in absolute darkness, though I don't mind a small light or two coming from things charging.
Usually absolutely silence it too eerie for me, (I'm actually a little afraid of the dark) so I like to keep my ceiling fan going, or play my Sleepy Time Playlist on my iPod.

It's impossible for me to sleep if there is any source of light near me.

I generally have the window open, and that's a source of light (I live in the city).
I like having a bit of light so that when I wake up in the middle of the night I can see where I'm going.

I can't sleep at night and I generally fall asleep mid-day on the couch, so I guess on?.

This is the only way I can sleep. I'll close the blinds, the door, and I'll position my alarm clock so that I can only see the numbers if I am sitting up. My TV has this small yellow light that is always on (Just to indicate that the TV is plugged in I guess) so I'll take my vidya gaming chair and put it in front of that so it doesn't distract me from obtaining the perfect sleep.
That's it I guess. I also sleep with the fan on ALL the time, even now during wintertime. I cannot sleep when it is too quiet otherwise I get distracted by small sounds, so the sound of the fan's motor hides all of that for me!

I need absolute darkness and I prefer if I can have absolute silence as well. Hard now that my fridge is inside my room and it's quite noisy.
I put things in front of all the LED lights of computers, sound system etc and close all blinds, curtains, doors...
I also can't sleep if I'm hungry and I get hungry pretty fast so I generally have to eat something before going to sleep.

During the day,I like to sleep with as much light as possible. At night, I am most active and don't sleep until it's light outside.

I'm not really picky either way, I can sleep with the lights on or off, with a little bit of sound, no sound, or a lot of sound. As long as it isn't like, BLARING music or something like that, I can sleep just fine. The one thing I'm REALLY picky about though, is my sleeping position... can never sleep unless I'm on my side in juuuuust the right way.

Everything off. Blinds closed. Any source of light or reflection or shine disattracts me somehow. Even if it's my belt. Luckily my alarm only gives light when going off or when you press a button. For sound it's pretty much the same thing. Any sound catches my focus and makes it harder to fall asleep. Too bad there are almost always lights on somewhere when I want to sleep.
Funny thing is that when I'm camping I can sleep under all circumstances.

I sleep regardless, but I make efforts to see no lights when I sleep (read: pillow, blanket, arms, etc...).

Light and sound, that way I know I'm awake quickly enough when I do wake up.

Absolute darkness only. Light wakes me up. For example, too less light coming in from the blinds because its a rainy day keeps me sleeping longer. Over the years, I removed my digital alarm with bright red numbers for this reason too. It got to be a bit too bright. =\
As for sounds .. it seems to only wake me around about 30 minutes to one hour left of my 6 hour sleep. Why six hours? Because my bio alarm wakes me up always at 6 hours on the dot. I can keep sleeping after that but it'll usually be light sleep. I'd also wake up every 30 minutes to 1 hour if I keep trying.

My wife is crazy about sleeping with no light in the room. We have an alarm clock that gives you the option to keep the display light off, all the chargers are covered up with clothes to keep the light away. Perfectly dark. Light doesn't bother me at all, as a kid I used to go to sleep with the lights on and because of how late I usually wake up there's usually plenty of light around me when I get up.
Also have the fan going on low no matter what season it is.
