Original League of Legends (LoL) Thread
Who was posting the Lux scores a number of pages ago and wants to give pointers?
Raises hand Wink

I'm not sure what you are looking for though could you be a little more specific?

Any items you always shoot for, do you harass much in lane or just use MP to farm (I have no runes yet so regen is limited to Doran Ring to start), what the hell do you do between cooldowns in team fights? I felt really useless between bursts.
Just curious, if I were to initiate with Amumu, what would be the most effective sequence I could use?

I was thinking Q (Bandage Toss) ---> R (Curse of the Sad Mummy [ultimate]) ---> W (Despair) ----> E (Tantrum)

And he can be played as a full tank, correct?
W first if you have mana to waste. If you do die with lots of mana on you, you probably could have done more =/ Obviously that's not always going to be the case, but I play with that mindset whenever I take out the trash with Anivia.

And then there's the flip side of the coin in that you're being really inefficient and retarded with your skills. Either that, or you just lack mana in general. But we'll assume that's not the case, as Amumu should have plenty more than enough to blow his entire combo.
Yes, amumu is a great tank.
AND NEVER ULTI TO INITIATE. NEVER.
Ulti DURING a teamfight, you have no idea of how much difference it makes Rolleyes

Yes, that is preferred, but I wouldn't say "never ulti to initiate". If the difference between not using it and using it is to ice one enemy champ with no potential to team fight, it's worthwhile.

My bro uses R when the person is trying to run.

My (not so great) friend uses it as a panic button... and it usually works >_>

I loled. Tongue1

So maybe do this initiation sequence in this format?

I was thinking Q (Bandage Toss, initiation skill)---> W (Despair) ---> R (Curse of the Sad Mummy [ultimate]) ----> E (Tantrum)

Assume that I'm some - yet reachable - distance away from the target I want to initiate on.
That's a fair sequence. Keep in mind how many people you want to ult.

I don't know if you're realized it already, but Q comes with a stun. Use it on people to break their channels or whatever they're doing (not related to initiation usually).

Break their channels? Like Nunu's Absolute Zero skill?

And is Amumu good with one or two AP items?
Amumu with a rylai's as a luxury item is deadly, perma AOE slow Monocle
But notice that it's a luxury item.

And i just meant that if you can you want to ulti during a teamfight when all of your team is nearby, the result isn't as good if you ult while your team tries to catch up after you used Q :l

I have to agree with the teamfight ult usage. Rolleyes

However, when during the game should I get Rylai's Crystal Scepter? Monocle

Anyways, just tested Amumu, and I personally think its just as nice of a tank as Rammus is (though of course I'll need more practice on Amumu to get better). Bandage + Despair + Ult + Tanturum = dead enemy if my teammates are around assisting/killing.

(Though using the Bandage skill does involve aiming at the right target. Oh boy, this brings back my epic failures with Powerball when I first started using Rammus. Rolleyes)

However, my team sucked, and we lost. My score: 3-4-1.
It's a luxury item so after core items, it's a last item to get after stuff like randuin/sunfire.
Sunfire IS a core item on amumu.
Also getting a leviathan is a MUST on amumu on a half-decent team.
You'll be raking in assists like hell = leviathan is worth it 100%
I often get around 10~ stacks all the time in average games and that's CHEAP hp.

Hmm I have a full rune book so it's probably different for you, the most important runes for her is hp quints and cooldown runes. I run 9/0/21 mastery on her with flash and clarity for summoner spells.
With clarity you will have enough mana to not have to leave the lane almost ever until level 10 or when you win your lane.

Items I start off with rushing the 30%ap hat first, cooldown boots, and a Rod of Ages last. Most of the time your game is over by then but if you are farming well it's good to get a Lichbane for your passive.

Skilling order is Q and E exclusively, start with q for the beginning of the match, leveling both of them up the entire time disregarding her W shield. Level ultimate up at any level it's available.

You have to learn to use her passive to your advantage. I usually snare the person with Q and throw a E just behind them where they will run to, auto attack once, set off the bomb with E and then autoattack a second time.
If you have an ultimate up it's a great finisher and or chaser tool as well. Anytime you aren't using your ultimate in your own lane, it is advised (assuming you have map awareness) to scoot down the river/jungle a tidbit and
flash the ultimate onto the mid lane's opponent.

If you get the lichbane into your combo it will be devastating, making each auto attack you use to set off the passive do all your AP worth in damage+ passive damage. Remember W is useless until you are required to put points
into it (aka late game everything else is maxed). Also remember each spell (minus shield) will light up your enemy, each light up needs to be followed up with an auto attack to set it off.

Add me in game and I'll show you in practice mode how exactly it works.

Hmm, Levi isn't very popular in the US servers, cause I almost never see it >_> IIRC, 10-11 stacks is the break even point, and that's a fairly difficult amount to achieve in an appreciable amount of time. However, the 20 stack bonus is very sexy xD

More on the Bandage Toss thing... you might run into frustration if you're attempting to Toss your way through walls via neutral creeps, and here's why:

Quote:Jumping Walls

Why – When escaping from enemies you may find simple running insufficient. In these cases, you may want to jump, dash, Flash, or otherwise move to the other side of a large obstruction. Here we will detail some of the ways to move across barriers.

Ground Jumps – Ground jumps are abilities that physically move your champion to a target location on the ground, like Tristana’s Rocket Jump or Shen’s Shadow Dash. However, if you don’t give yourself enough room to land on the other side of the barrier, you won’t go through at all. Ensure your champion has enough room to spread out before you attempt any daring maneuvers. Amumu and Blitzcrank work similarly with Bandage Toss and Rocket Grab. Sometimes the champion and the target will end up on opposite sides of the barrier if there’s no room for both champions on one side.

Ground Flashes – Ground flashes instantly teleport your champion to the location. Ezreal’s Arcane Shift and Shaco’s Deceive are examples of ground flashes. Unlike jumps, flashes react differently when interacting with barriers: If you attempt to flash to a location inside a barrier, it will push your champion out to the nearest opening. Sometimes this may result in your champion not moving anywhere, but often it can double the distance on your flash as it pushes you out the other end. Any champion make use this trick if they pick the summoner spell “Flash.”

Targeted Spells – Some abilities require you to choose a specific target to jump or flash to. Jax’s Leap Strike and Katarina’s Shunpo are primary examples of targeted movement spells. In these cases, you must have an enemy (or teammate if applicable) in range in order to cast the spell. Like with ground jumps, you may not always end up on the same side of the barrier. There is one exceptional trick you can pull off with targeted movement spells. If you carry a ward around with you, you can place it on the other side of a cliff, and Leap Strike or Shunpo to safety after placing it.

Unrelated: I stole the website's bottom background image and made it my own desktop. Something about Windows 7's default desktop background irks me, unlike Windows Vista's default desktop background (on my crappy lappy).
Just had a horrible game with a lot of lag. I swear every time I lagged, I died. Can't wait until the weekend until I can get a wired connection. Parents won't allow me to do it on weekdays =/.

To be honest, I don't like items where I have to stack to get the benefits. At this point, I'm "intermediate", and cannot stage many ganks and whatnot like you can. Rolleyes

Yesterday when I played Amumu, Frozen Heart showed up as one of the "Recommended" items. Is it a good item to get for Amumu?
Correct me if there are any points here that are wrong. Rolleyes

Amumu:

- Can only initiate from a short distance (somewhat of a disadvantage). Though the Bandage skill stuns and drags him to the targeted enemy, so eh, everything works out.
- Ultimate can cause tons of trouble for the opponent, especially if chained up with other Amumu skills (saw this firsthand last night, lol). Hey, free kills anyone?
- Farming = not good. Of course, he's a tank, so not a surprise.
- Can't jungle. Eh, whatever.
- Despair. I can't say enough how many times that skill is quite deadly if used in conjunction with other Amumu skills. Though its a bit MP-costly if used over a long period of time.
- Tantrum gives Amumu a bit of hardiness, albeit not much. Can deal "SURPRISE BUTTSECKS" damage - implicitly - when executing initiations.

Rammus:

- Has the ability to stage initiations from long and short range via Powerball. Powerball can allow him to move and/or escape.
- Taunt = EXTREMELY deadly if used correctly.
- Ultimate is only good when it is comboed with other skills. One benefit to this, though, is that it can wreck turrets and inhibitors. Backdoor, anyone?
- Somewhat squishy when not on Curl until he gets fully armed with all of his tanking armors.
- Curl = makes him hard as a rock.
- Can jungle, but only past level 6 or so.
- Can't farm. He's a tank. Nuff said.
Frozen Heart is a situational item.

Amumu can jungle you nibblet >_>

How is Frozen Heart situational?

And how can Amumu jungle? Rolleyes
