I watched Hyakka Ryouran Samurai Girls in a moment of weakness over winter break. I was unbelievably bored. It was so bad I swore I'd never speak of it, never discuss it, and not add it to my list of completed shows. But I speak of it now to reinforce Spidey's point. The only more frustrating and awful thing I've watched all the way through has been Zero no Tsukaima. That was the depths of the anime abyss for me.
Freezing 1 was bad, and the people who made it and watch it should feel bad. I refuse to watch more episodes to find out if it improves.

I only watched the first episode of the series I was interested in, but it looks like it'll be a really good season.
Dragon Crisis 1: *insert Joe-esque HNNNG* For serious, Rie is just the best thing ever. The show itself seems like it could be very interesting too. I don't usually notice this in anime, but the background music was really active (in a good way) here.
Fractale 1: I kept getting into a zone where I thought it would be boring, and then something really interesting happens. I have a feeling that it won't let me down going forward, so I can't wait for more. For some reason, the unique strangeness of his world reminds me of a Miyazaki film.
Gosick 1: Cute smart lolis are always a good thing. Hoping for more interesting stories (that aren't totally obvious) in the future.
IS: Infinite Stratos 1: Eh... not boring at least, but I'm not expecting to be impressed. Hopefully a plot and some good action will happen at some point, but I'll probably drop it due to my schedule being partially taken by school now.
Kore wa Zombie Desu ka? 1: I lol'd at the tone change as soon as he jumped in front of that truck. I get the feeling this will be our "MM!" of the season as far as wild comedy goes. It sure is nice when the protagonist isn't boring. Will certainly watch more.
Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica 1-2: Hmm... not sure what to say about this one. I like the art and I feel like it'll be good for a mahou shoujo, but I don't really see it being compelling enough to keep watching. Oddly, the main reason I want to check out more episodes is to see Madoka and that other girl kick ass with their bows. Will probably drop after that particular lust is sated.
Yumekui Merry 1: This one is pretty hard to guess about with just the first episode under my belt, like IS. I'm not even sure what to hope for in this anime. Action with sprinkles of love triangle? Doesn't matter; I'll keep watching for now. Oh, and why do you hate J.C.'s animation Joe? I don't see anything wrong with it; rather, I kind of like it.
I dropped Index. It's felt like a chore to watch it for the past 6 episodes or so, so why am I watching it? Easy fix.
By the way, I have a hard time believing that a girl like this exists. I see ojous like this all over the place in anime, but I really can't believe or understand the idea of a polite-talking ojou who fancies herself better than everyone else as a character. What would happen were you to gather a bunch of them and put them all in a small room together? Does anyone else think that there's even a small number of these types of people anywhere? Unless that degree of self-importance is being done ironically (like Stephen Colbert or some such), I just can't quite get my head around it.
Does anyone else use MAL to catalog their anime? I'd like to see some of y'all on there.

I think I started a MAL at some point. It's probably out of date, I just keep a running list in Word for my own reference.

You are pretty strict with ratings (as in, you hardly rate something really high).

I don't like seeing people rate things they don't like 7 and never using the bottom 5 numbers. I just think rating something 10 or 2 should mean something, yenno?

I can understand that, but I cracked up when I saw pretty much all of Naruto being rated 1 or 2. Don't get me wrong, I agree with you, but I've gotten used to Naruto and Bleach being praised as masterpieces whenever someone even bothers to rate them.

You could probably make a somewhat valid argument for the non-filler part of the main show in spite of its resistance to ending, but there's just no excuse for those movies. I didn't even like 'em when I actually liked Naruto.

What? I don't like everything I watch. I don't state that I drop a lot of anime, but I eventually do. Like I said before in another post a while back, I try to finish something regardless of what I think, unless it's like "OMG THIS IS UNDENIABLY AND UNBEARABLE TO WATCH", then yes, I'd drop it in less than 3-4 episodes.

I'd make one, but I'm too lazy to keep track if everything, and I'll feel crappy knowing I'm missing series because of my bad memory. If something like this existed when I first started watching anime, that'd be cool. Then again, I wouldn't have cared about keeping track of things at that age.

My list was about half the size when I first made it by skimming through ANN's alphabetical list, so it was pretty easy at that point and updating is simple enough. I do forget things though. Didn't have FMA:B on the list until I noticed it on Shi's. Asking me to name all the shows I've seen any number of episodes though would really pineapple me up. I forget about a lot of shows I don't finish since a lot of them are forgettable and frequently suck. I don't blame you though. Can you give a ballpark as to how much you've watched?

IS: Infinite Stratos 2: Feeling bland. May drop soon. Also, the IS themselves really don't make sense to me. If there's only 400 some, why bother having a massive fucking school dedicated to them? In the end isn't it just a really expensive method of recreation? Maybe a war will break out with aliens and they have to use IS to defend the planet or something.
Yumekui Merry 2: Eh... maybe the next episode will be better.
Gosick 2: Why the odd ending? It's as though they're insecure and scared that we'll stop watching, so they put in a cliffhanger ending, even though I'm sure no one actually thinks Kujo gets shot. Don't be so insecure Gosick, you're better than that <3

Kore wa zombie desu ka? 2: So so episode, the fight was somewhat nice and there were some funny parts but not as much of an "OMG randomness" as the 1st one.

For IS, judging by the piece in the first episode before the opening song, Something happens, or that was just some training exercise. Also, since they use them as a sport of sorts, limiting the number there are seems safer than having countries stock piling them, just waiting for their female population to use them.
For GoSick, its a mystery anime, so expect cliffhangers every other episode or so.

Index II ep. 14 - I liked this one since Touma's luck actually did him a favor for once, and I loved how he wasn't able to believe it up until the very end! Also, I think that there might be another member added to his harem soon, that girl handing him that towel just seems to want him. :f6:

Taken alone, episode 1 was god-tier awesome. I did have a fleeting moment of panic in episode two where my harem alert was set off. I'm going to punch a baby if this gem turns into a full-blown harem show.

I'll probably start posting my opinions about the currently airing shows that I'm watching as they continue this season.

Kore wa Zombie desu ka? 01: Actually, that was nearly as good as Seto no Hanayome. A particularly unexpected gem of this season, given its premise. The male lead is enjoyable and manages to drive the series without being overpowered by the heroines. Speaking of the heroines, they've been alright so far. You guys are making me worry a bit with what you have to say about episode 2, but I'll hope for the best when I watch that.
Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magika 02: That fight was pretty cool and the music was great during the fight. They've been introducing some of the darker and grittier elements into it as well, like how witches are responsible for suicides where the motive wasn't really clear. It's been a cool experience, but the plot's been stuck in generic magical girl territory. I hope that doesn't keep up, and the series manages to turn into something more complex and unique.
Kunagisa Wrote:That aside, I wonder what exactly happens when you run out of witch eggs to restore magic. Death? I'm practicing watching this without subs, but I don't recall hearing an exact explanation on what happens, so if it was explained somewhere and I missed it, let me know.
They said that "if they were lucky", a witch would leave behind a Grief Seed; key word here being "if they were lucky". I'd have to assume that they don't always find a Grief Seed, and that they're not exactly totally reliant on Grief Seeds to replenish their magic.

Kore wa Zombie desu ka? 01-02:
Both episodes were fun to watch. While episode 2 wasn't as crazy as the first, I still enjoyed it.
Dragon Crisis! 01:
So much deredere. My body was not ready.
Yumekui Merry 02:
I really hope this series gets more interesting soon, I found myself kind of bored while watching this.
