Ok, thanks. Those seem pretty basic stuff I've learned from playing games similar too it and using common sense. Everything except the solo middle I've got a clear understanding off stuff.
What about items? What are the recommended items? Should I try and focus on a single stat? Also, what about those items that have Passive and Active abilities? I don't understand that part of them. How do I use the active part and does the item disappear?

consumables: one time use.
Useable items: useable when cooldown is gone.
Items depend on the champion, look up champion spotlights for example for some basic tuts or check online guides or play with what you like.
I think there are a few beginner tuts on youtube.

Loose:
What champion do you play? Each champ has different needs
Also, the difference between passive and active effects is that passive effects apply to you automatically, while for active effects, you have to click on the item to activate it. For instance, Randouins Omen has both passive and active effects. If I have it on, I have a certain percentage chance to slow an enemy's movement by a certain amount whenever I use a skill against one. For its active, if I click on the item, anyone who is around the impacted area get slowed down by a certain amount (its an AoE active effect basically, though the area impacted is small). Usually active effect on those itema have a cooldown. And no it doesnt "use" up the item; it will still be there

Your item slots correspond with your number 1-6 keys so you can arrange them in whatever order you like with your mouse and then use your number keys to
activate potions/elixers/active items.

<Neurolimal> imagining a spartan dropping on top of you from the sky, then going "I think I've done enough here" and waddling off into a jungle

Birdie Wrote:For a actual tank, id say shen first, then amumu. Play cho if you could use a secondary tank.
I played a few games as cho tonight, they went pretty well. build was as follows:
Start with doran's ring and a health pot. First trip back was catalyst and boots of speed. Second trip back was level two boots and 1-2 negatron cloaks. Start frozen heart next(i forget the name but build the item first, skip the two vest and go right to the completed item. Then banishes and abyssl sector( i forgot the name again, but its magic resist, ap and magic resist debuff) Other items were dependant on team comp. One game ended before i got passed that, second game i built a thornmail and GA.
Actaully cho makes a fine primary tank IMO. He's really good at keeping your carries safe and making their carries lives a living hell in fights.
@Loose: Solo middle is for the main carries that do the most damage and need the most gold for their items. The recommended items on champs are, more often than not, bad on the champion in question. Once you play for a while and play different chars you'll learn most of the items in the game and know what's good on who. Until then, you should look up guides on leaguecraft.com and mobafire.com to see how to build/ play your characters.

The one for Ashe isn't half-bad, it's good for beginners.

Servers were down for a fair bit of last night, according to a trusty status-checking IRC bot I checked.

There wasn't. LoL server problems (It was on "Busy" for like 30-45 minutes) and the lack of attendance forced the cancellation. :\
We can do one if we see each other on in large numbers, lol
