Item Locks

I heard something a while ago that if you have an item locked on your character, you character can't be deleted. Anyone know if this is true?

False.
If anything, that's why my Marksman was deleted. The hacker couldn't take any of the equips since they were all locked.

I never really understood Item Locks, what is the point of them, to protect the items on your account in case you get hacked?

So we have to pay for the hacker prevention we should be getting anyway?

Exactly why I'm scared to death of getting hacked again, since all hackers need now is a PIC to delete characters. o____e

Um actually you can transfer locked items through storage to characters within your account EXCEPT items that need to be karma'd. As far as I know if you karma the item and then lock it you can transfer it one time through storage but after that you need to wait for the lock to un-lock before trying to transfer it again. Other then that all tradable items can be transfered through storage as I've done this many times with some of my gears.

How about if you item lock your wedding ring? Is divorce still possible? (The person with lock being able to divorce)

edit : Tested it, you can lock ring and still divorce. It leaves the ring in your inventory just without a name, deleting is still possible. Guess destroying ring is only way to not get deleted.
