Yay, mom asploded her laptop

Mom was rebooting her laptop and she accidentally/whatever hard shut it down while it was restarting and now it says something like...

Something is corrupt in here:
Windows\system32\config\system


how2fix?

Find your windows os disc.

>put it in the drive
>set disc to boot first/hit delete/f8 or whatever and select the disc drive
>when windows gives you the option, say repair.


Problem should be fixed. If not, post results.

Only other choice is to find someone with the same OS and to use theirs...or...

use other *cough* methods to get an iso and burn it.

if she can't boot from last known good configuration......then yeah, repair file with OS

You can find several Recovery Disks online (even from Microsoft) that have the repair utilities on the disk image, but nothing of the actual operating system itself.
