While I like the sentiment I have to say that if the teachers and appreciators of his time could not approve of his art... Well, it's a shame he didn't develop a hobby for whittling.

Brilliance is rarely appreciated in its own time.

We don't know why he wasn't accepted into art school. It's clearly not because he wasn't a good artist. Probably because his art is so plain, even for the standards of the past. There's nothing special about it. He could've eventually found a niche that worked for him

About his rejection from art school, I'm not sure why he was, I just heard from my Anthropology teacher that he was rejected. I haven't looked into it much after that.

Yea. He was a completely brilliant artist. No point on getting rejected from that art school, because such talent is rarely found.
If he didn't get rejected, maybe he didn't join the military, and consequently started all the pomegranate he has done in his life.
