Making Money
#1
I've been around a few MMORPG's and making money usually comes from merchanting. However, as I am relatively new to Maplestory I really don't want to spend an inordinant time in the Free Market. MTS is also a formatting nightmare.

I was wondering if there was any monsters or items I could hunt while I train. Thanks for the help!

Beginner/1st Job: Blue Ribbon Pig. ETC sell for 100 meso each.
2nd Job: 30-50 CPQ, turn in coins for Gepharts. 60+ PPQ, loot sunrise/sunset dews and reindeer milk to NPC.
3rd Job+: Windraiders.

Could you elaborate on what you mean by Windraiders?

I have a lvl 75 Sniper and a 68 Wild Hunter. Guess I'll have to grind a little bit more for Windraiders.

Windraiders are Lv70 mobs that drop Badges. You can collect 50 Windraider Badges and turn them in after doing some quests in the Phantom Forest for 750k per 50 badges. Also a chance for scrolls/weapons.

What everyone else said.

And if you ever get to a high enough level, you can earn a small profit simply from Papping every day. However, this requires that you make quick work of Pap (kill fast, talk later. Preferably, kill Pap in < 7 minutes Tongue1)

If done correctly, you can earn a bit after pot costs are subtracted. Before pot costs are considered, I probably made about 15-17 million - possibly more - simply from NPCing pots dropped from Pap since the BB patch. I don't have a store right now, or have ways to sell stuff, so Pap is the only way that I get a small, yet reliable meso income.

And of course, if you ever come across nice 3-lined equips that people may need, that's another way to make money (however, this is based most on luck, and most people find potentialed equips while they are training). Revealing epic or unique potential items straight out of "hidden potential" status is a major plus. But note that the chances of getting epic or unique status equips in that fashion are low as hell.

Pap is actually the only way i break even. I solo zak sometimes twice a day but i never pick up the helms or books because i don't have NX to karma and i never find people willing to karma for me to sell such things.

An hour per run. It's fun and great exp. Way better than killing regular monsters to level, which is BOOOOORING.

CPQ. I don't get CPQ. I was with a party for two rounds before they dropped me and have no clue what I was doing. My partner took all the maple coins just as I spotted them. But I could use a Spiegelmann necklace for my BaM.

I did the "Fools Gold" quests and got 400k killing leprechauns before the reward mesos which were 200k total. Good for level 42.

CPQ is no longer a good source of meso. Gepharts used to NPC for 150k meso, which was really nice for 7 coins. Now their NPC price has gone way down (15k? less?), so it's really not worth your time.
You'd do better hunting Sakura Cellions in Amoria, they are level 33 but drop about 300 meso, and their tails NPC for another 50. (Note: haven't checked whether this is still so after BB, but Amoria seems entirely untouched so I assume so).
However, farming leps is probably the better option, even though their spawn is slow.

I won't bother with CPQ then. Not too many people were there anyway. *writing down Sakura Cellions for furture reference*
Leps got old after 90 minutes but they drop good mesos, plus no one was there.

If you ever hit lvl100, go to crimsonwood 'path of strength' map (firebrand, nightshadow, elder wraith), and start killin. The map is very good for training if u considered firebrands 2 part body as 1 monster (990+990=kents). If you do the 25/25/25/25 badges you will can get 3.5 mil mesos. *bonuses include, crimsonwood, soiled rags, crystal ores

*note, you only really need to crimsonwood keep to get stormbringer badges as they are the lowest to drop (no real good stormbringer map), also u might need have to nightshadow map in Crim. Keep cause if you grab 100 firebrand badges, there is 20-30 badge difference between FB & NS.

At level 100+, kill BF, HH. Each toe you turn in is 400k, and each head is 100k. Droprate is pretty low these times, so you can hunt leprechaun, that give around 1.8k each mob+100k for turning in 30 lucky charms.

This is a nice little bonus every 48 hours. But yes, if not for the delay it makes full-time BF and HH hunting the best option.

Another high level spot that I'm looking at would be the higher level mobs in Kaede Castle, as they drop big ticket items like 60% Shield for MATK scrolls, Pyogo Mushrooms, and Elemental Weapons(?). Not sure on the last one, but they have a couple drops that are worth major meso, so hunting them for a while could be worthwhile.
