Any sighting of the elusive Big Cat?

Ok, so someone said that when they went back in the channel, it spawned like 10 seconds later? Maybe thats why I never find any. I always cc the next second. =X

My friend told me to camp until I get the blue text, but I surfed instead.
He caught Jaira and I didn't see any yet. I think camping is the right method.

Anyways, I remember when Snowman was out. I was there with my Hero all day. The beauty of Snowman is that it spawns every 15 min, so its easy to follow its spawning pattern.
It used to spawn at different times at different channels!
Ch1-3 was 15 min, but 4-6 was 16 min, and some were 14 min...
Some were 20 min!
I couldn't understand how it worked. The only explanation was different spawning times for each channel.
Maybe it works that way for Jaira...

Yup, basically, I was camped there for about 3 minutes, and cced about a split second after Jaira appeared (just enough that I got the blue words). I cced back, looked through the whole ch, and no Jaira found. Right when I started to get sad that I missed my opportunity, he appeared in the bottom left corner. Something I noticed when my Jaira spawned. (I cc'd a bit.) Is in the upper left hand platform only had 1 Jaguar. Which usually had 2. So I killed the one and a few seconds later Jaira spawned on the lower right area. I don't know what this means, but I thought it was strange.

(And AwakePlace, my time in PST would be 1:10 am, on the list it is wrong.)

The WZ files show almost no information to help us. There is one map, 931000500 (iirc), which lists all the mobs in the map, but doesn't list Jaira (this could also be why Jaira doesn't have a specified spawn location, there isn't a specified spawn location in the WZ file map data). All the other maps link to this map (as in, they are copies of this map), and no mob information is given. The only difference between the mobs listed in the map is that one of the tan/brown jaguars (I forget whether it's top left or top right, but I don't think it makes a difference) has a mobTime of 0, the rest of the jaguars have a mobTime of 1. I'm not sure what mobTime does, but I thought it might be worth pointing out. And no, killing this tan/brown jaguar does not spawn Jaira.

There are a total of ten maps. 00, 09, 08, 07, 06, 05, 04, 03, 02, 01. They go in order as listed. If someone is in the first map (00), and no one is in the second map (09), you will be placed in the second map. If there is one and only one person in every map, you will be placed in the first map, and it cycles like this. Once you are in a map, you can change channels, and you will still be in that map.

Jaira takes 5 damage per hit, constant, similar to all jaguars except the normal black ones. Jaira cannot be KB'd, and he has 300 health, compared to a normal jaguar's 125. For what it's worth, a normal black jaguar takes 25 damage per hit, constant. The most valuable piece of information gained here is that Jaira, once spawned, will disappear after 15 minutes.

Even if you are currently riding a jaguar when you catch another one (Jaira included), you will automatically switch to the jaguar you just caught, so don't be afraid of riding a jaguar while trying to catch Jaira.

Jaira is similar to an area boss in that after he spawns, the first player to enter that map will receive a blue message saying "Jaira has appeared from between the boulders". That does not mean that this text will always appear, people might receive the text and leave, or be afk in the map with a Jaira present. Do not channel surf waiting for the text.

Spawned around 12:35pm today on Zenith, and again on another channel at 12:43pm (friend got this one). Also other sightings by other people on other channels.

12:45pm, Bera, ch11, room 00.
After 7 days... Finally... I came back from dinner - and saw the Blue text.

I'd suspected in an earlier post that there might be a noon spawn on 1/4 and/or 1/5 (and there was a noon spawn on both days), and a morning spawn on 1/7, so I'm sticking with that prediction. However, I haven't nailed down an exact pattern yet either, and I'm unsure whether the maintenance affects the spawns in any way. I can't be sure if there will be a spawn tomorrow or not, I'm not expecting it, but I will be hunting anyway.

One thing I have noticed, but neglected to mention until I could be reassured, is that one of the noon spawn times always seems to have far less reports than the other. For today, in example, I received one report from someone who probably doesn't visit SouthPerry, and yesterday we had four reports from people who do visit here. I'm not sure if that's because there are far more Jaira hunters than SouthPerry frequenters, or if there is actually a difference in the amount of Jaira's that spawn. There is also a considerably larger amount of reports for the morning times compared to either noon time, but again, there could be more people hunting Jaira in the morning. I can't be sure.

Update: No reports for 1/6. I'm having a hard time believing my predictions came through correctly.

Update 2: Nothing on 1/7 AM, so my prediction was wrong. Shucks.

The only difference between the mobs listed in the map is that one of the tan/brown jaguars (I forget whether it's top left or top right, but I don't think it makes a difference) has a mobTime of 0, the rest of the jaguars have a mobTime of 1. I'm not sure what mobTime does, but I thought it might be worth pointing out. And no, killing this tan/brown jaguar does not spawn Jaira.

There are a total of ten maps. 00, 09, 08, 07, 06, 05, 04, 03, 02, 01. They go in order as listed. If someone is in the first map (00), and no one is in the second map (09), you will be placed in the second map. If there is one and only one person in every map, you will be placed in the first map, and it cycles like this. Once you are in a map, you can change channels, and you will still be in that map.

Jaira takes 5 damage per hit, constant, similar to all jaguars except the normal black ones. Jaira cannot be KB'd, and he has 300 health, compared to a normal jaguar's 125. For what it's worth, a normal black jaguar takes 25 damage per hit, constant. The most valuable piece of information gained here is that Jaira, once spawned, will disappear after 15 minutes.

Even if you are currently riding a jaguar when you catch another one (Jaira included), you will automatically switch to the jaguar you just caught, so don't be afraid of riding a jaguar while trying to catch Jaira.

Jaira is similar to an area boss in that after he spawns, the first player to enter that map will receive a blue message saying "Jaira has appeared from between the boulders". That does not mean that this text will always appear, people might receive the text and leave, or be afk in the map with a Jaira present. Do not channel surf waiting for the text.

Caught Jaira in El Nido, 7 jan around 1.20PM ch 5 room 500

got Jaira today in ch 13 Broa, one apeared on ch 14 after that but disapeared cuz no1 came, then I sent smega and 2 guys got Jaira, ch 15 & 16
