Epic fail from LoL today: Opponents invaded my team while we were Baroning, and they got the last hit on Baron. There went our game in 5 minutes. FML.

I guess I play this now? Haven't actually played by myself, just sitting next to a friend or two. Level 8 or 9 right now, been playing Yi like a good newbie. Very excited for Gragas this week.

Just a little tip, but if this happens your team really needs to stop attacking baron and focus on the other team. If possible move out of baron's little cave. It can be super hard to get random teammates to do this, but if you can it will really help.

I played my first game today in a month or so, well only part of a game, my roommate started a game forgetting that he ordered food so I took over when that came. He was playing shen, someone who I was never that good with. I only played for 5 minutes or so and kept getting tower dived by a crazy panth and ryze. Panth died every time he dove but so did I and ryze was getting gold for assist so that didnt go so well. Messed around in a custom game with Kat afterwards and had a lot of fun with her, being able to shempo(sp?) to creeps in order to catch up to fleeing enemies is really cool . Wish I could play more often....stupid computer f5

And that's one of the other reasons playing without a jungler is a waste, having someone with smite prevents this
And i'm still against playing rammus with warmog, get a sunfire early for him, provides him with a decent armor:hp ratio, then go for an aegis and then a banshees if they're MR heavy and that'll give you plenty of hp for a rammus.
There are just better items for him :/ he's meant to be armor heavy but ofc he needs hp to back it up, but banshee aegis and sunfire gives him 3k+ hp which is plenty with his around 500 armor lategame, with ball curl ofcourse.

And i still can't play with any of you fml

And give me a bit of resilience - Armor and MD-wise - against enemy Champions.

@ the Warmog comment: Kaj was bagging me for that last night. Though if I do get all of my desired armors (including Warmog), I can hit 4K+ HP and beyond while still having heavy armor/MD presence on me. At that point, I'm virtually indestructible, lulz.

Through a bit of experimentation though, I found that getting Randouins Omen (and Negatron Cape or w/e its called) first before going for Warmog is slightly better, as getting those armors first allow me to plow through jungle creeps without any problem. And give me a bit of resilience - Armor and MD-wise - against enemy Champions.

:/ if you want warmog on rammus go for it as your last luxury item, IMO it's just a waste on him.
And the thing is, as rammus, you need armor for your passive and your ball curl reflection damage.
In a good team fight you'll only be focused by 1 person, the person you taunted. Which is why he wont need a ton of HP but instead damage to pound on that person and MR to survive AOE ultis and the likes.
Edit: This is since rammus almost no matter how you build him takes forever to down, and thustrying to kill him first will ensure you losing the battle if both teams are even in funds.

Just like LoL is, yes.
LoLs been called a worthy successor to DotA which is BS IMO, they're two very different games, but LoL is inspired from DotA anyway.
But HoN kept a lot of goodies from DotA, denying and such

Hm interesting, in mid-high level DotA (and I assume HoN) play, jungling is pretty difficult because it's so easy to prevent someone from jungling with wards and ganks. Only in low level play do you see two solo lanes and one guy freely farming the jungle for the first 10 minutes.

"counter jungling" has become more popular in high level play recently, but most junglers can take different routes, so saying at the start of the game, lets go to enemy golem buff to gank their jungler doesnt always work. Warding blue and red buff later on is a great idea to try to counter them, but they should have smite and unless your jungle can respond and move quick enough to the enemy buff you are unlikely to stop them. Reginald, one the top LoL players, is well known for his shaco play, where he will clear his jungle quicker than the enemy and go gank them as they try to get their red buff. He is able to later use his jack in the box as a ward and simply control both jungles.

Played two Gragas games today, one was kinda bad and one was mediocre. He is rather fun though. Any thoughts on tank vs. AP (If anyone cares)? My only thought has been that I want more CDR.

Though I found out getting Randouins Omen early on allows me to plow through jungle much easier (moar money and easier access to red/blue buffs) and gives me a bit of resilience. And I can possibly get my Negatron Cape in a much faster way if I go with this plan. I can maybe get Warmog later, but if I'm in a situation where my HP is a priority, then Warmog is on the top of my list.

If I have time, I'll test this out to see how effective it is.

Played two Gragas games today, one was kinda bad and one was mediocre. He is rather fun though. Any thoughts on tank vs. AP (If anyone cares)? My only thought has been that I want more CDR.

I play with merc shoes ofcourse.
When i play gragas i get mejais soulstealer early on since he easily gets 5~6 charges even in bad games due to his massive AOE and support.
Then i get a spirit visage, CDR and healing increase which works with his passive, then i get a Heart of gold and keep that for quite a while.
After that i get rod of ages and rylai's scepter, that lets him survive quite some and support his team more.
And if the game lasts this long i work the HoG into a randuins omen.
Last item would be zhonyas ring but now that they changed it i'd go for one of the 2 new items, either the 155 AP 30% ap buff item or the zhonyas hourglass.
I normally get these items pretty fast since gragas is an amazing, AMAZING farmer.

@Above, when is HP ever a priority as a tank? You get warmog early, they get madreds and you're countered, which is why i don't consider mundo a tank, he got a ton of hp with a few warmogs ignite or any heal reduction + madreds and gg for mundo.
With rammus armor and MR is priority with slight HP, around the 3k+

I did a pretty piss poor job farming in both games. I'm assuming those new CDR shoes might be a good try in a game without too much slow/stun.

Sorry for the nub question, but what is Madreds? I've seen my IRL friends talk about it a lot, and didn't get its strategic value.

I usually stack MR right after Randouins (and Warmog, if possible) since Rammus gets a natural increase in armor every level up (his MR remains constant throughout the game unless you boost him up); getting Randouins will fulfill my PD needs for the entire game. If I acquire my MR armors fast enough and have enough for a PD armor, the next PD armor I would get is either Sunfire Cape or Guardian Angel. By that time, my item slots will likely be filled up.

I like to stack Banshee Veil and FoN as my MR armors of choice. Those work very nicely for me.

They'd be decent but normally spirit visage + masteries + blue buff= max CDR, or around it.
But good boots non the less for gragas, only if enemies aren't CC heavy tho, these boots are perfect on zilean tho. Or support champs in general.

But as gragas you just gotta have a ton of mana regen runes, buy seals and glyphs with mana regen per level, they're cheap and help a ton, i never ran completely out of mana as gragas.
But just barrel roll ranged creeps twice and later on go for all the creeps, stick to your lane without pushing it too much, get the tower if you can but try not to since you wont be able to mass farm there anymore.
My best game with gragas where i was allowed to farm all i want i hadn't gone back a single time and earned almost 5k at the 20 min mark. Tho that game i had horrible enemies.

And these are my core items as rammus:
Merc threads
Aegis of legion
Sunfire cape
Randuin's omen/Thornmail, depending on enemies.
Banshees veil
And last item would be a luxury or situational item, i change above according to enemies ofcourse.
Also if i want pure HP i go for leviathan, in a decent match you'll have a ton of assists anyway.

And madreds deals damage based on your HP, 4% of your hp as damage.
