Just to clarify, the blue smudging in the background wasn't to be implemented on the forum itself. I have one with no blue smudging, but sent that to simulate the background colour. Since i made that banner without getting the background as a reference, and just to test, had to put some blue color at the backgorund.
Couldn't clarify before because i would reveal that i made that, which was sorta agains't the rules. :o
Tought that site icons could fit the banner itself, but comparing to those, i tend to prefer plain text.

Getting to 3rd place was much better than i expected, waiting to see the winners in context someday now.
Congrats to the winners! Smile

Grats you two.
In all honesty, I don't like either

It's already been said a half dozen times none of the submissions were good enough to replace what we have so you shouldn't hold your breath.
It's not having what you want - It's wanting what you've got.

I read that already, Eos. I'm not blind.

They weren't good enough to replace, and i said that i was hoping to see those in context. Altough i do know they won't replace the current logo.
It isn't that hard to understand what i wanted to say.

Your english may be failing you then, because "in context" for a banner made to be a specific site's banner would be on the site in the place I've said they're not going to be.

It's not that hard to understand how nonsensical your statement was in those terms.
It's not having what you want - It's wanting what you've got.

I still don't get why #18 wasn't accepted.
It was the best one that approached the quality of the current one.

That's not the list in order of votes, lol. That's the list as it was presented to the mods.

Then again:

Delicae Wrote:Say I design a logo as a sketch on paper and scan it in as an entry.

If its good enough, would there be a possibility for redesigning it digitally?
I'd really like to participate, but I lack the clarity digital paintings bring.
TaliaNCo Wrote:I won't leave anything out as an option. Just because it's not digital doesn't mean it can't be a beautiful piece of work. I didn't post anything in the rules stating it HAD to be done using photoshop or the like. Smile Bring it on!!! I'm sure we can figure something out.

That would imply that submission format need not be final intended format (although I suppose a scanned drawing could still be cropped and resized to fit the given requirements).

Not arguing it was wrong to disqualify those submissions since they technically did violate the letter of the rule, just that I think they still fit the spirit of this contest.

I didn't ask a question.

You certainly implied one but your point was irrelevant regardless; The number had to be brought down and the people who failed to meet guidelines were the easiest to throw out.
That is how a contest works after all. Despite what the American entitlement-complex tries to accomplish not everyone can be the winner.
