Any sighting of the elusive Big Cat?
Narblet Wrote:Hold up. I think I just noticed a pattern here....On saturday(3 days ago) Jaira was found at 3pm EST, let's call that day 1. on Day 2(Sunday, Dec 26th) some people found it at 3am est, yesterday it was found again at 3pm est, and today, it was found at 3am est. Note that all these times are approximate, not all are exact. But does anyone else notice a pattern coming along?

Which also fits with the person I ran into who caught it on the 24th at 3 AM. That would explain why it seems to be going in "bursts" of people finding it and not finding it.

Guess I'll go grab a map tomorrow and check to see if that's the case. I'd actually prefer a 36 hour timer because then you can get it regardless of your time zone - no staying up til 2 AM just for a chance to get it.

The MSEAer that I mentioned at AsiaSoft forums said he caught his Jaira at what was essentially 4 AM PST in El Nido. Hmmm...

I think it appears at the 36 hour mark but if no one is in the map, it does not spawn. El Nido is not a very crowded world and it is quite possible he was the only person to enter the map after the 36 hour spawn, even though it was not at 12:00ish PST.

I think he spawns in a different map ID every spawn and each spawn it is only on that one map ID. For example the past outbreak of sighting about 21 hours ago all occured in Map 00.

How about this, we check tommorow to see if it spawns, and that we we'll know if I have truly solved the timer mystery.
OH and can I get someone's help?
I need one more person to help me solve the map mystery.
I'll be in map 500, and the other person be in map 509. That way we'll know if the spawn pattern is random, the same for 72 hours, or changes in order.
(If I solved teh mystery, I'd have to say, not bad for a little electron am I right?)
Now for those of the people who caught it later of this time, could it be that Jaira swaps maps rather than disappearing? It could be that, after 15 minutes, it'll go to the next map?
Because I've noticed, that none of the off people times, are in map 00.

I think we're making too many assumptions.

I haven't found any yet, in most of the map IDs.

I agree with this. I've searched all 00 channels in mardia, for the past 19 mins. No luck atm

36 hours from the previous encounters brings up to December29 at 12PM PST. It's AM atm.

Who actually confirmed the 36 hour respawn? Proof please.

No one, it is just a theory right now. So far it has not been proven false.

I think they (myself included) were testing the 36 hour theory. I am still in room 02, in the same channel I was in last night. Jaira has not appeared, leading me to suspect that this 36 hour timer might be correct, or that (assuming it spawns every 12 hours) it doesn't spawn in the same map consecutively. I suppose we'll find out in roughly 12 hours whether or not 36 hours is correct, and whether or not it spawns in the same map each time. Hopefully I can get up on time and not sleep through the alarm...

Edit: This is something I've been meaning to point out. The person that mentioned the pattern which eventually led to people thinking it might have a 36 hour timer didn't specifically say it was a 36 hour timer, just mentioned the pattern of morning the first day, noon the second, morning the third, noon the fourth. Meaning it would have an alternating spawn time of 12 hours, and then 36 hours. I'm not saying that's what it is by any means, but if the 36 hour timer proves incorrect, does this alternating spawn timer fit the pattern of sightings? (Have we checked if the 36 hour timer fits the sighting times thus far?)

36 hours doesn't work out.

12 AM -> 12 PM -> 12 AM have been the recent spawn times between my friends in the same channel. I don't think there's a set time for it.

Considering over threads on different websites that have had proof of it being at their own time, its been a day and a half between the sightnings.

so, If no one posts (with proof) tonight, that they found one, then we'll know to check at noon pst tomarrow. Considering someone them posts proof then, then we'll know that its every 36 hours.

Actually, I read the person that originally posted the theory and I see what you're saying. Saturday sightings were at 12PM, Sunday sightings were at 12AM. Monday sightings were at 12PM and Tuesday sightings at 12AM. So if this is correct, the pattern is 12 hours then 36 hours or once a day spawn, alternating between noon and midnight.

And yeah, you're right 36 hour does not fit spawns thus far.

Tonight? People already caught it on the 28th at 12 am pst. I am checking today to see wether or not my theory is false.

Once a day spawn alternations is what I was going for, since I originally never suggested a 36 hour timer... If it was 36 hours we would need these times:
Saturday-12pm-Sunday-no spawn-Monday- 12am- Tuesday-no spawn- Wednesday- 12 pm. which instantly doesn't work out, because there was a 12 am spawn on Tuesday. So today we'll find out if alternating times is correct.

Maybe there's 2 48 hour timers set for alternating days? I know that would be really out there, but would explain 12 AM and 12 PM on every other day.

Two 48 hour timers is just an over-elegant way of saying "Four 24 hour timers"
