Any sighting of the elusive Big Cat?

I can confirm. You can clearly see in my above SS that I DID NOT receive the spawn message when I cc'ed into a channel already containing a Jaira.

This is the same as all area bosses pretty much. But it is odd you actually came across a jaira that did not have the little blue notice at the bottom. That meant someone just left it there with the knowledge of it being there.

The person came back, saw me on it, and I barely had time to say "I stole your jaira" before he ragequit. Something makes me feel he was camping and afked to read one of these threads when it didn't spawn right at 12AM pst XD

BIG thanks to my guildie who shout out in guild chat that he found jaira at ch 9 at around 00:35am PST

Take him a while to find what id is that map (i have to tell him all Fiel's stuff to find map id via RE). Then i found my Jaira at ch 18 at 01:01am 28 December 2010 PST (after 4 days camping on 3 characters )

Check other channel and saw other ppl w/ Jaira at ch 2

I just caught Jaira, finally.

I just entered the jaguar map, and blue text appeared right away. Then I cc'd to channel 19 and blue text appeared again in 5 seconds, a second Jaira. None of the other channels seemed to have it though.

So Either Jaira does spawn at random times OR it spawns after 24 hours, but ONLY when someone enters the map?

open the start menu and type in regedit. That opens the registry. Then you just have to find the maplestory folder and under siFieldID should give you the Id of the map. There are a total of 10 of them 00 to 01

Sadly, I'm also very inept on technology I opened the Registry, found my Maplestory folder, but it doesn't have the siFieldID. What can I do?

Lucky MSEAer at AsiaSoft forums started a Wild Hunter in GMS and found a Jaira immediately. He didn't even know that it was exactly Jaira, just that he had heard of a rare jaguar.

I know that jaira spawns on the same map on every channel, at b@sil <--Not sure if I'm allowed to write the name, but at 12:00am-12:45am pst, people had an uproar of jairas, in different worlds, everyone found it in map 1(500) and I have some confirmation about the 12 hours, since wildbeastxxx of scania, got his jaria at around 3:00 pm est, and a friend of mine, has a brother who got it at 3:30 pm est. And does anyone think that jaira spawns based on the number of people on the map? Like if there are none it wouldn't spawn, but if this one map has the highest pop. in the channel it would spawn there?

So basically in map 00 it spawns the most? Around midnight, but not around midnight and not in 00? Nexon must be in their offices laughing at us. Ok. Ima try round 3 tonight. Dammit why do I have to be in Eastern time. 3am here I come. Good thing I'm on Christmas leave. I wouldn't be able to do this. 6am Wake up. >.<

It spawns at 3:30 est both AM and PM. If I'm unable to catch at noon, I'm prolly gonna make another account, and pay someone to log on to catch it for me..Luckyily I have this extra karma'd zhelm ready to trade

Ugh...Oddly enough there was no spawn at 3-3:30 pm est. I'm gonna camp out for the whole day, until like 11pm. Then get someone else.

Seems like it's a mesh of all. A number of reports are at 12AM, but a number of others aren't. As well as after 24 hours, it'd seem like it'd definitely reset if it does spawn once a day. And it seems more "fair" if it spawns only if someone is around, or there'd be a lot of wasted Jairas. Also would explain multiple sightings better.

Gives hope to find one now, though.

Now...I'm beginning to think this isn't worth our time.
But, it's such an awesome thing... I'll camp for a few more days.

Hold up. I think I just noticed a pattern here....On saturday(3 days ago) Jaira was found at 3pm EST, let's call that day 1. on Day 2(Sunday, Dec 26th) some people found it at 3am est, yesterday it was found again at 3pm est, and today, it was found at 3am est. Note that all these times are approximate, not all are exact. But does anyone else notice a pattern coming along?
