The site's undergoing a major backup before some upgrades so it may hiccup a bit tonight.

It doesn't appear to be taxing it too badly at the moment but it's not impossible that it will get rougher, so just try to bear with it. Won't last forever.

Depends on "of what".

This for example is the 2011 "clean image" of the entire OS. You can figure out how often that occurs from the name.
Then there's backups of the forum, backups of the database(s), backups of the templates, backups of the VM slice itself done by the host, backups of apache, backups of various other configs...

Not worth trying to answer for everything.
