i had to redownload the Gms to rejoin because a friend wanted me to. i had 3 gigs free on my flash and it ended up requiring 5.5gigs. so i had to delete some things just so i can have it on the flash

I have a friend whose laptop has been overheating since the last patch. You may be on to something.

It requires double the room because of how the client installs and updates. It takes 2.7 or so.

You're doing it wrong. 5.5 gigs including the installer. the actual package is only 2.4G

He isn't doing anything wrong, he just doesn't know that the installer takes up twice the space when installing.

Mine's been doing it off and on ever since a while ago, but it has been doing it more frequently recently yes. I still have problems with Windows SP 3 that I'm trying to figure out as well so that could be part of it though.

Yeah...I think Maplestory is some kind of virus I accidentally downloaded. I can't delete it F4.

When MS updates it makes copies of all the wz files, doubling the amount of space being used. It patches those temp files then ovewrites the old files. Protip: If you play MS on a Flash or Portable HDD make sure to have 2x + more the size of MS inside. I learned it the hard way and felt like a dumbass.

Don't know if they've improved the installer, but at one point it took up 4x the space
- the file you downloaded
- 2 extracted MSI installers (each more identical than the other - it takes files from both) -> these both go on C:\ temp folders. But not the same one.
- the game itself

If they're on the ball, they've removed at least 1 (maybe 2) of these requirements.

Might it have something to do with the higher resolution?

I was thinking it's because of the memory leak. It's using a ton of resources thus the computer has to work harder thus things begin to go awry

Hackshield uses 100% cpu time while it's loading, badly coded wait I guess. The game itself sits at 70-80% cpu on my laptop at all times so that thing gets pretty warm.

One thing I noticed is that when in windowed mode, if I click outside (or alt-tab) the MS window, MS freezes for a moment then continues running as normal. However, yesterday (during 2x ffs) I alt-tabbed like 3 times and it simply froze, showing a "(not responding)" status, and it remained like that until I killed it with the task manager. Tongue

Yeah, and OT: my laptop was getting hot already even before 12/20. I'm on W7 BTW.

i think its because of the memory leak.

After about an hour of me playing my comp starts to chug a bit, and i find now if i try to change channels my client just crashes and that windows message comes up thats all like 'MapleStory.exe has stopped working'
