Patch v0.60: CWK AutoBan Glitch

I manual patched. Here's my Map.wz's properties.


And although I wasn't looking for one, I don't recall seeing a rope to go to the top left portal in Bent Tree. I probably would have used one if I'd seen it.

My file size is larger and I have the rope. Here's pictures.

Wow, great work putting details together, guys! I always use the manual patcher because it's generally faster, particularly with large patches, than waiting for the auto-patch segments to download. My map.wz is just a teeny bit smaller than it should be.

I will definitely reinstall the game completely before I venture back into Crimsonwood area, and alert my friends and guildies as well!

Does anyone know if this also prevents people from being banned by entering Henesys mini-dungeon?

I haven't tried looking for/entering the dungeons, but my guess would be yes. People have effectively trained there, so I don't know what else it could be.

Frankly, as I was thinking when a friend of mine pointed out; almost a 1kb difference between those who used the manual patcher and those who didn't is far too much for just a few pixels; that one rope.

That one rope only accounts for Bent Tree DCs, not the others.

There are probably some other minor differences between the manual and auto versions, such as the minidungeons, and perhaps a couple of strings or something that don't interfere.

Yeah, my point was that the manual patcher very likely is the cause for all of the autobans and such, because, as I said, the discrepancy is far too large just for that one rope.

I was just given a 1 day block from MapleStory, but I'm not trying to contest my block.

I think there's a glitch in the Phantom Forest dealing with Leprechauns. I was just walking through the map Bent Tree and was jumping over a Leprechaun in its meso bag form. Suddenly, I was automatically blocked from the game and logged out. I think this is caused by a glitch in the game because all I was doing was walking through a map.

Could you please fix this glitch? I've read on fan forums that this is affecting other people as well.

After reading more reports of this happening to other players, I think it may be related to using the Manual Patcher to get to v.60, which I used. In all the reports I have read about other people being automatically blocked by this glitch, they had used the Manual Patcher as well.

After more investigating, I think it's related to the Map.wz file. Using the Manual Patcher to v.60 results in a smaller Map.wz filesize than auto patching or installing the full client, leaving me with the incorrect Bent Tree map. Since it's an incorrect map, the autobanning system banned me.

Anyway, I reinstalled the client and now everything's fine.

I bolded a phrase in my original ticket. Notice the first thing the GM says when she responds. Wtp?

4) Where was your location on that map?

6) What were you doing on the map (killing monsters, standing around, etc)?
7) What monsters were you killing?
8) What spells/attacks were you using?
9) What level are you?
10) What class is your character?
11) What is your character's specific job?

If she recommends that I "do not run ANY other programs while [I am] playing MapleStory," I guess I should shut down explorer.exe (and Windows itself for that matter) since that's another program that's running. Seriously, wtp? I told them that it was an issue with Map.wz after using the Manual Patcher. It has nothing to do with a 3rd party program.

Since it took 3 days for me to get a reply, I assume this was actually read instead of receiving an auto-reply. The GM wants me to provide more information (some of which I had already provided), even though none of that is relevant to the problem. Again, I told them exactly what's causing the auto-ban.

Nexon's customer service fails.
