Resistance class choice is really surprising.

I'm decimating subway PQ as a lv 25 battle mage. Few thousand per game, and i get yellow aura in less than a minute. It's still 50% per game though. D:

BaM= Battle Mage has been the accepted abbreviation for as long as I can remember. BM has and always will mean Bowmaster.

I think the big draw is how different Wild Hunters are compared to most existing classes. Yeah, at heart they're still bowmen, but they seem to play quite a bit differently. Battle Mages on the other hand.... frankly a close combat mage just looks like any other close combat class, but with crappier Hp. I'm trying it anyway, if only because of the glut of mediocre mage gear I have, but I'm not expecting much.

ShiKage Wrote:Too bad it's not like an Asian language, huh? The JMS abbrevations for classes are like :

弓 = Hunter / Ranger / Bowmaster
弩 = Crossbowmaster (all jobs)
英雄 = Hero
斬り = shadower
投げ = Night Lord

etc. etc

English abbreviations are just "..."

People in GMS shorten everything so much, there's the SAME abbreviation for about 20 different things. It's ridiculous. lol

As far as I care, people can go f'uck themselves. Type out the names for f'uck's sake.

And then i pointed how much more you can fit into one line of chat than GMSers can.

Made BM, they're pretty unique too, having to choose which aura you feel like using today, and the combo-like attacks. WH seems meh to me. At 4th job they're just like a BoM with hax (no-dismount hax + move-'n-attack hax + ultimate hax ;P). (Didn't play one though)

I vote BM to be battlemage, then Bow Masters can be BoM. Because BoM's are DA BOMB. Big Grin

I'm surprised so many people made Battle Mages. Wild Hunters are one of a kind. I've never experienced such fast paced action in MapleStory. Took me 1 hour to level from 14 to 30, then 1 hour to level from 30-38, and even at level 55, I'm leveling 4 times an hour.

My Battle Mage just kinda levels up sometimes with no effort, but that's the big bang talking.

It's my kind of mage I guess, up close and personal.

Then again, with the gear I stuffed on it, it's 1hkoing quest mobs with level 1 Chains. Which is fairly badass. Too bad Chains is a slow mofo.

Its mostly BB, I did the same on Crusader, only took longer because of school/homework, currently level 94, almost half way through 3rd job, with the 2x on Saturday/Sunday I plan to get to 120.

Played both to level 50 so far. Really funsies and they do massive amounts of damage is short bursts. I find it a tad ridiculous that Wild Hunters can out speed and range a telecasting battlemage. the wild hunter can walk and still out range the battlemage.

Good thing i have both Big Grin

i only use abbreviations in-game due to the text limit. in maplesea theres. pot, it can mean potions, potential or piece of time. And then theres BS, meaning bishop, not pomegranate.

BS = Bishop/Bless/Boomerang Stab/Bloody Storm

HS = Hidden-Street (website)/Holy Symbol/Haste

As for Bowmasters, MSEA players tend to just call them "bow"s. The context will decide whether it's referring to Bowmasters or the weapon. Alternatively, "Arch" works as well. Archmages are simply called mages or f/p or i/l.

i call bowmasters bm and arch mages a/m's and bishops bs. i didnt choose to use these abbreviations but i use it because most people understand it and that all that matters. As for PoT, pot and pot. i capitalize P and T in pot to represent piece of time and just say pot for potential cause i rarely use pot for potions.

I tend to not use the same abbreviation for multiple things. If people are retarded enough to mistake "repot" for "report", I don't wanna know what would happen with stuff that's the same...
