Hawaiian Mafia: Mafia and Survivor Win

Agreed for the most part. The mafia presence is minimal at best amongst the active voters. I'm beginning to see why forcing at least some discussion from inactive players is a good thing to include in the rules, and will likely do so in my game.

A bit off topic but how will you force discussion? A rule stating that every player must post something relevant and helpful to the game once per day or be godkilled?

Also, if Synthesist is doctor, that means MasPan is lying or is a mafia.

We could always try to kill him anyway and see if he really IS doc, and if he is then Mas is confirmed mafia. We can't know otherwise, one confirmed mafia is better than shooting around in the dark.

He likely is the real doc. As noted above, I was WIFOM'ing the mafia. I'm a vanilla townie.

If he IS the doctor, then we're screwed, unless we have a bodyguard role (which mas might be, if he still claims he can "protect" somehow.) Nvm, then.

It's also possible that that's a defense that you had the clever foresight to set up earlier to protect you from the town if you were ever found out. I don't buy it. [vote] MasPan

You're using a lot of WIFOM in that post.

I suppose it is to a point, but it seems fairly obvious that we've done the mafia's work for them by lynching so many active voters. Perhaps I should have stopped short of suggesting that all active players were cleared by it, I meant that it seems obvious now that most of the mafia has been hiding in the lurking/nonparticipation section. Thus, while chances are good someone amongst the active voters is a mafian, they're a far lesser threat than the remaining mafians whom we have no clear information on unless the detective has some.

As for Synthesist, I must admit that he so rarely speaks that I'm inclined to believe him, if not for Mas's earlier claim. So one of them is lying for one reason or another. As to which one it is, I'm more inclined to believe Synthesist, but it does seem like a gambit that a mafian might attempt at this point so I'm a bit divided on it. Of course that brings up the possibility that Mas lied because he was mafian. And since no one has counter claimed until now. So perhaps he was hoping to draw out the true doctor with that, or at least muddle the issue, but didn't because it was Synthesist. That would certainly make sense.

Because it's the truth. As a vanilla townie, the best way I can be useful to the town is to confuse the mafia and attempt to have them target me. Only Synthesist knows if they actually tried to, but whatever the case I hopefully drew attention off of him.

I don't think anyone pays attention to him anyway, unless it's a lurkerwagon.

I'm still divided, but I find myself agreeing with Holypie. Also Mas, as you yourself have admitted, your gambit is just as easily designed to draw the doctor out. You can claim that you had good intentions for it, but it's just as easily something a mafian might do to try and get rid of the doctor. And at this point, I really think you're more likely a mafian that Synthesist is.
