White Christmas Hill Event Ruined

Easier said than done. Avoiding channels with pets is pretty much nigh impossible. It wasn't that bad in Khaini, only had 4 or 5 channels with vaccers, but today...it's well over 2/3rd of the channels. Good thing my sister and I got a couple WSes before this pomegranate hit the fan.

I asked around a little in Bellocan and supposedly there's a hacker in all channels, hiding behind the bear. Ugh.

Stupid Nexon should have made the gold flakes one-of-a-kind, like the gold maple leaves.
Or yeah, got GMs on the tree hill and vacced up the hackers.
As it is people are trying to report, but there are so many hackers, and even more glitchers, and you can only report once a day, so what are the chances of anything coming out of it?

Fortunately, unlike the Chaos Scroll debacle, the hackers can't generate White Scrolls by the millions. They're limited by the number of gold flakes that actually drop. Still could get up to 100,000 scrolls per server by the end of the event... I hope that's not enough to cause Nexon to take drastic corrective action in the form of rollbacks and bannings of people who happen to have white scrolls. Why do they always burn the barn after the horses have been stolen?

I woudln't be suprised if they can generate them by the millions. Since the Chaos Scroll required 80 Pitchnotes, and they were still able to oO

Wouldn't surprise me if Nexon left that door open again.

I've just avoided the hill, considering the majority use pets to vac with Nexon could actually make a dent by banning them. Unlike other botters in order to start up again they need to buy more nx to buy a pet again. Which at least makes it less likely that people will put more money in if there's a high chance to get caught, but everyone knows hacking won't get you caught in maple

If I understand correctly, the Pitch Notes didn't get used up when you bought a scroll, which is what made the proliferation of Chaos Scrolls possible.

The fact that the hackers bother to sit at tree hill and vac leads me to believe they really do need more and more gold flakes to get more and more scrolls.

Not necessarily. They could just be vindictive and not want anyone else to get them. Rolleyes

There are two NPCs, one on the ground and one on the haystack(?).
One that accepts regular (blue) snowflakes and sells (short lived) buffs and maple weapons, and one that accepts gold snowflakes and sells white scrolls (also chaos, clean slate, some 1-day mounts, and other junk I don't remember).

Scrolls that are for sale for under 100m are the duped ones. Every vac'er is going to sit on these and wait for them to inflate in price at the end of the event. And yes, some vac'ers will go non-stop throughout the entire event and end up with a thousand or so WS.

The way the event works, banning pets is a bad idea. 50% of the time (At least in my experience), the flakes drop from left to right slowly. If you have a bad connection, or a lot of people are on that channel, you have NO CHANCE.

Instead, they SHOULD just have a GM in every channel. It sounds hard, but they could easily give the GMs some kind of multi client or at least multiple map watch system, then they could just watch each map for a vac. Especially since every channel works at once, they can easily sleep for 15 minutes then wake up just for the explosion, and go back to bed like they are always doing anyway >_> (Sarcastic of course...or is it?)

... With more than 10 worlds, each having 13, 19, or 20 ch? They don't have enough GMs for that. They certainly don't have enough computers for that either.

They don't have to be everywhere at once. Remember, they're invisible, so the hackers don't know they are there and can't just go to another channel.

So just sit in the map in a random channel, watch the tree blow, ban anyone vaccing or glitching it, and move on to the next channel. Repeat as necessary.

There's an easy way to figure it out, make GMs able to drop some of the blue or gold snowflakes, see who they fly to (or who's inventory they wind up in), permanent ban the hacker.

Alilatias Wrote:One has to wonder why a GM doesn't just camp out in the White Christmas Hill and snipe the hackers. Then again, what steps do they have to take in order to ban someone in the first place?

At least I managed to get four maple weapons through snowflakes on the first and second day... Yesterday afternoon, if not sooner, was when the situation became so bad to the point where hackers started to camp out in -EVERY CHANNEL- in Windia, usually sitting behind the snowman. One channel in particular today had THREE hackers hiding behind the snowman. And even then, there were still hackers coming in, leaving, CCing, rinse and repeat.

I've since given up, even though I managed to nab a gold snowflake on my Wild Hunter. :/

Grats.
This whole event tick's me off. All I wanted was a Wagner for my DB in bera. I got all of 36 crystals total. Hackers... =_=

people just "glitch"
How to ?
While tree was going to explode, the map will lag, so be it for players
for players freshly entered will have lesser lag
so when tree explodes u enter the map and u will be able to loot of them

some ppl jus use hack
some ppl jus use pets
encouraging ppl to do something like robberies huh :f6:

Glitch is in gMS too. We have that, pet vac and those nx hoes with 3 pets fully equipped.

Perhaps an organized boycott of White Tree Hill is in order everyone?

Oh yeah, that's perfect. Let the hackers hack in peace, ya'know?
