Shame I can't really charge or persuade my parents to charge on Steam. That Valve complete pack is still a huge deal for me, even though I already own Portal, L4D1, L4D2, and TF2.

Yeah, it's probably the best deal they have right now.

Waiting for daily sales on Mass Effect and TF2... ME might not happen, but TF2 certainly will.

What is Steam, exactly?

It's a digital PC game distribution service run by ValvE. They tend to have a lot of good deals so it's pretty nice.

As for me, I snagged Super Meat Boy and the indie music pack. Can't wait to see what they have tomorrow, although I admit I spend far too much money on steam games. I need to save some money to get some headphones that don't suck ass (stupid Skullcandies...)

Do you have to sign up and pay a monthly fee or anything? Do you need to download any programs? I've always though Steam was part of XBL, haha.

No and no. Steam is just a digital distribution medium with some features that I don't actually use. Most PC games that are good are usually on Steam.

Just think of a free XBox Live on the PC. However, you gotta download it, but you CAN have a game on 2 computers (you can't play them the same time, but still).

'1034 titles on sale'

Where'd you get this number? I see 1136+666 = 1752 things.
