4th job makes for wild hunter
#1
Well wild hunter is comming around, I think it's time to get some business done. I see no updated wild hunter guideGoggleemoticon So might get that when i experience the class for myself.

But for now, i wanna discuss 4th job skill builds. No, i don't plan on getting to 4th job in less than a week, probally take a couple of weeks since im going to be mostly questing Biggrin

So for now, just all theoritical stuff. Here goes!

The question? What 3-4 skills are most important in 4th job. I plan to only get to 150, and possibly 160. That gives me a decent amount of skill points to work with.

Discuss which ones should be put in what order Monocle. All the data here is form dusk's resistance thread in the game mechanic section (You rock for organizing everything so cleanly man Biggrin

-Wild Vulcan
Fire a wave of arrows with tremendous speed. Arrows will be continously fired while the skill key is held.
level 30: MP 9; 200% damage per arrow
My take: Its hurricane Poast self explanatory...

-Maple Warrior
Description Temporarily increase the stats of all party members.
level 20: MP 50; 600 seconds, All stats +10%
My take: Eh don't know how useful it will be since other people will max this as well. But soloing? good i guess

-Beast Form
Description The Jaguar's body temporarily grows red wings, and HP, weapon attack, and movement speed are greatly improved. [Cooldown: 4 minutes]
level 30: MP 60; for 120 seconds, +80% maximum HP, +20% attack, +30 speed
My take: Seems like a nice boost, but the 2 minute cooldown makes it sorta hard to keep it up a lot.

-Chemical Shell
Description Fire arrows with gas bombs attached. Targets become tougher and reward greater experience.
level 20:MP 45; target defense, experience +40%
My take: At first, i thought this skill was complete trash. Then i thought thinking, "I wonder how this would work out at Lion Heart Castle...." 40% is a nice boost....

-Crossbow Expertise
Description Improves the mastery, physical damage, and minimum critical damage when wielding a crossbow.
Required skill: Crossbow Mastery Lv. 20
Max Level: 30 Crossbow mastery +70%, +30 weapon attack, +15% minimum critical damage
My take: Seems pretty nice...can't really comment on anything else...

-Wild Instinct
Description Ignore a portion of the target's weapon defense, and increases evasion.
Max Level: 10: Ignore 20% of the target's weapon defense, 20% chance of evasion
My take: Wow this thing looks godly..and its only 10 levels.

-Flash Rain
Description Summon an enormous gear that releases rapid-fire arrows upon multiple enemies.
Max Level: 30: MP 350, attack up to 15 targets for 100% damage 10 times, 850% damage explosion, 30 second cooldown.
My take: This skill in my honest opinion should be maxed as one as your last skills. It doesn't look useful in much situations anyway.

-Sonic Boom
Description The Jaguar lets out a huge roar. The roar creates powerful shockwaves, damaging and stunning enemies.
Max Level 30:MP 70; 700% damage on up to 6 targets, 100% chance to stun for 10 seconds
My take: This thing looks like an overpowered useless shout. Seriously wth?

-Sharp Eyes
Description Temporarily improves the party's ability to find enemy weaknesses, improving critical rate and maximum critical damage.
Max Level 30: MP 45; for 300 seconds, +20% critical chance, +30% maximum critical damage
My take: You know what this is, you don't need my take on this...

So which skills i think that should be maxed early? Well i know its a bit weird, but i was thinking of actually maxing wild instinct first. Its only 10 points, and seems like it benefits almost any situation.
And yea i don't know after that xD I don't know how useful chemical bomb would be in lion heart castle, or how useful sharp eyes is in a party since all archer classes get it.

So...ready...set...post!

You'd probably start with 1 Sonic Roar and add Wild Arrow Blast, Wild Instinct and Crossbow Expert the same way Bowmasters add points to Hurricane, Marksmanship and Bow Expertise. And then a few points into Feline Berserk or Stink Bomb Shot.

it'll be the same as bowmasters and marksmen. 1 hurricane--> mastery W/ some def piercing and a few mess around points--> few seconds worth of SE for party skills.

Uh am i missing something about why even adding sonic roar? Is it just for the lols? Because i really don't see any use in it o.o

I guess 1 hurricane would be good enough, as it already overpowers the maxed 5 shot skill even at level 1...
Which would be worth doing first? Adding crossbow mastery or wild instinct?

BTW, for wild instinct, is it 20% increase in avoid in the stat window or is it like the fake skill avoid thing?

Pretty sure its just like Shadow shifter, but the 20% is really low so you barely recognize it working due to crappy bowman avoid anyway.

Hey does chemical shell only affect your exp or everyones exp if in a party ofcourse? Also can HS stack on the 40% boost? if so then that should be one of the few skills you get first since it benefits all and yourself.

You'd use it whenever an adventurer or wind archer would use Arrow Rain or Arrow Eruption.

Chemical Shell doesn't afffect you or your party; it affects the targetted monster.

So that means that anyone who kills that monster will get the exp boost on it? Also that would mean that HS stacks with it too correct? Bit confused on how that skill works? Is it a worthy skill or just bleh like Taunt is for NL?

Why the hell would you do that? You can kill six monsters with level 1 Wild Arrow Blast in the same amount of time it would take level 1 Sonic Roar to. As in, level 1 Wild Arrow Blast does more DPS than level 1 Sonic Roar can do to six monsters. It's like telling Crusaders to use level 1 Shout at 70. Level 1 Dash 'n Slash is more useful.

same effects as taunt... different name...

i'd go with 1 vulcan, max SE, max vulcan, max wild instinct, max xbow xpert, max beast, max mw... with some discrepancies depending on what the lv1 of skills looks like....

maybe also switch beast to appear sooner, but im not sure its as great of a boost as the formers. 10% boost on average is what it boils down to... so maybe than xpert, im not going to visit the numbers.
