Tournament of Picks
#21
Faaaaaaaaaaaaaantastic. We have 12 now. I just need Lyssa's picks (and to settle on my own <.<). And to work out how to do an elimination bracket with 12 to a side, but I'll figure something out. Expect this to start either tonight or tomorrow, gentlemen (and ladies).

Hmm, my suggestion: either do a trios elimination at the beginning (6 groups of 3, only 1 leaves), do that at the end (one group of 3 of the last remaining) or finally do something a la world cup with groups of 4 from which leaves 2 each and get the top most voted 3rd places in the groups to the second phase to have 16 total on the 2nd phase.

I'll do a drawing of this in a moment if it's too confusing.

An alternate for my Method 3 would be to have 8 groups of 3 at the beggining and have 2 leave from each group.

I'm thinking mode 3 at the moment. 12 > 4 > 2 > 1 in each division, then finals of the division winners. Also, I'll probably do a loser's bracket of the songs that die in the first round, just for gits and shiggles.

PICKS ARE ALL IN. I'm whipping up a quick randomizer in Java and then I'll post a new thread with the rounds. And remember: If you're participating, please vote. If you aren't, VOTE ANYWAY! The voting is open to everyone, whether or not they put in songs.

If you want to do it with 1v1 with some randomly chosen songs getting a bye past the first round, you can use Challonge. It'll generate the bracket for you and have a bracket image you can post here that will get updated as you update the tournament with results.

Eh, I'm going with 1v1v1 matches. Byes would mean that 4 songs per division get a bye in round 1, and that's just a few too many in my opinion. Also, that site is nice but I'm going to go with simple text-based brackets/rounds this time and not bother with fancy graphics.

P.S. Someone can lock this thread now. I'm going to put up another one for the actual contest.

From those groups of 3 right now, we'll have one or two songs going byebye?
