DCing @ HT/zak/czak
#1
I was wondering if anyone had the same problem I was with having your maple crash at zak or horntail o.o?

I've seen some screenshots and heard about horntail or zak or even czak being killed since the Big Bang patch.

However, everytime I try to go my maple crashes around the death of the 4th-5th arm.

Also, I tried going into Horntail and it worked and I managed to kill up to the Cave of Trial II with no disconnection issues. Yet, when I tried to go again a few days later, everytime I try to get the squad from NPC my maple crashes.

Does anyone know a possible solution to any of this nonsense?

This has been happening since forever. It's nothing new. People with win 7 and vista DC almsot everytime at bosses.

There is no solution besides downgrading to a windows XP computer (assuming you have Vista or 7)

If you have XP, then i assume you need more RAM or a better graphics card that can handle the graphics.

I have XP and I have never had a DC issue ever previously on maple. Also it seems that it's not just me. Nearly everyone I know crashes on these bosses; even pap. I was thinking it was a glitch not a compatibility / cpu deficiency.

EDIT: Ah! Right! Solutions are currently unknown at this time, due to it appearing to be a memory leak of sorts.

Are you sure its unknown? I've seen some videos / SS's of recent zak / HT / czak / cht etc runs that have been recorded AFTER big bang...so how is it that some people do not crash?

I'm going to try this. I'll report back after I'm done Zaking in like 30.

There is a new aspect to it since BB
It happens much more frequently and for most can't be avoided at all at bosses with multiple parts. Only saving grace I've noticed at pap is some people finish it before they glitch out. The tell-tale sign is that music loops every half-second or so.

The HT issue with dc'ing right when you sign up fo the squad has been aroudn for a while now however. Seems like people can get in a few times right after a server check/patch and then it locks up and does this.

I've been DC-ing after just beating up Pap's 2nd form, and Maple closed on me for NO RAISIN when trying to solo bodyguard A. Is this similar to everyone DC-ing at the bigger bosses?

Disabling sound driver? Wha? I'm not really great with computers so what exactly are you talking about and how do you do it? o.o

Right click "My computer" go to "Manage" then to "Decive manager" and find your sound device. Right click and disable it from there.

I'm still waiting on someone to tell me this works before I try, other than Locked. I like listening to music when I play Maple, and I'd be sadpanda if I have to turn off my music just so I can kill Pap.

I understand where you are coming from however while i also enjoy listening to music while mapling, i have an iphone with headphones at my disposal. Also, i enjoy using global hotkey programs that display the current song being played, which do not show up when maple is up now. If this works, i'll probably just keep my sound card off all the time.

I might go kill pap later to confirm this. First time with maple running normally and second time with sound card off.

How do you disable your sound driver? O_O I'm trying to follow the directions given by Kunagisa but after I open "My Computer" I can't find "Manage"

Disabling the sound device won't stop the infinite loop in the memory buffer caused by other bugs that are memory leak issues. Most of it involves improperly translated text and code for the Boss HP Bar.

I would say if you have a sound card with a Creative, ASUS, or Realtek chipset to attempt using the Alchemy, GX, or 3DSoundBack OpenAL wrapper. Might work. Might not, but it's worth experimenting with.

Search -> Device manager -> find your sound card -> right click -> disable.
